"You're staying here, missy," Dad tells me. Now I know for sure something's going on.
"But why?" I moan.
"Just for a few minutes, please, honey," Dad beseeches. I do as my Dad says and rest my head against him as he strokes my hair. "Do you want to take a nap against me?" I shake my head because all I want is Damian to spend some time with me and tell me he loves me. I need to go apologise for my behaviour earlier but neither of these two will let me leave.
"Okay, you can go now," Nick announces excitedly. He takes my hand and leads me upstairs while my Dad holds onto my back. They take me down the long hall and I see the others waiting outside a room. Why did they come up here? Nick places a blindfold over my eyes so I can't see and I ask him what he is doing. "It's a surprise. Now let me guide you inside the room." He holds onto my waist, pushing me gently in front when I was to move forward and holding me tight when I have to stop. I feel new arms wrap around me and I assume from all the tingles and the scent that it is Damian holding me now. I don't move for a while because I'm still angry so he wraps his arms around me fully and kisses my cheek.
"I'm so sorry about earlier, I can explain," he whispers in my ear and I sigh heavily before leaning my head in to kiss him. I end up knocking my nose off his because I couldn't see and we chuckle. He kisses my nose and then my lips. "All better." He starts to unwrap my blindfold. I don't know what the hell is happening so I go with it. There's a smell of fresh paint in the air and I'm very curious of what's in this room that everyone is so excited about. The blindfold is fully off now but my eyes were tight shut. "Open your eyes, silly."
"I'm scared to." He chuckles and tells me to open them so I do. The room is quite big, one side is painted a baby blue and the other is painted a light, baby pink. On the walls are designs of butterflies on the girl's side and designs of teddy bears on the boy's side. There is a crib on either side of the room; they were both a light shade of wood. A changing table at the middle of the wall separates the two sides of the room. A cute clock hangs on the wall, a nursery hamper lies underneath it for dirty clothes, a rocking chair stays at the end of the room near a window, shelves hold toys and accessories on them, a garbage can lies next to a drawer that I assume are full of clothes and on top of the drawer is a baby monitor, wipes and diapers.
"We picked out some clothes too," Damian proclaims and I squeal excitedly. Inside the drawers are blankets, baby clothes and burp cloths. This feels like a dream, everything is too good to be true. I unexpectedly bear hug Damian and kiss him nonstop. He chuckles against my lips and kisses back. I am so unbelievably happy. This really is a fairy-tale.
