"It... It really wasn't the-" I stopped when he slapped me.

"W-w-why did y-you..." I got up and ran to the bathroom and locked the door. I started crying heavily. The sounds must be reaching the room.

"Open the door," he said.

I didn't react or speak.

"Open the damn door!" he yelled. I opened it and started running to the room's exit, but he caught my hand and pulled me close to him.

"Was it really not there?" he asked me.

"Y-you don't b-believe me anyway," I said and started going when Robert's phone rang. He picked it up, while I decided to stay in the room till the call is over because he was holding my wrist tightly.

He picked it up, and the call was on speaker... itself.

"Oh, sorry Hailey. But I thought your husband must trust you. I'm really sorry. Robert, this is just the starting. I can do anything, like removing the lock of the boss of the biggest mafia empire in the most secure house... and putting his phone on speaker. You'll regret being against me" and with that, the call ended.

The voice was completely distorted. He is unlikely to recognize it.

"Mafia? Oh yea, I should have understood that" I said.

"Sorry," he said and left the room void of any emotions.

Sorry??

Sorry?

He really said sorry?

My ears are working, right?

And any damage? Maybe some nerve damage... I should go for a check-up.

Or maybe I need a psychiatrist, maybe I was hallucinating.

Or maybe-

"Boss needs you in the lobby, Mrs. Hailey" someone interrupted my thoughts.

Why the hell does he 'needs' me there. He was here just a few seconds ago.

"Okay," I replied.

The door was closed; he spoke from outside only. I think he left. After taking deep breaths, I went downstairs.

"So? Mrs. Anderson" he said.

Woah. He has a bipolar disease.

I looked at him to continue. He was sitting on the couch.

"Don't think that sorry was for you" he said. "It was to my inner self for I didn't understand the plan by Nicholson"

I nodded my head.

"Words... Bitch" he said in a tired tone.

"U-understood sir," I said. From my vision, I saw him smirking.

He got up. That's when his hand caught my attention. It was bleeding and it looked like a bullet when through it. The bullet must have gone through it, the skin was totally torn.

"But... Who are you to decide my fate!?!" I finally decided to talk back to him.

"So, you've got the guts to talk back?" He chuckled and a smirk formed on his lips. "Then let's get this straight today, love," he said.

"W-what? N-no!" I said but his expressions changed to rage as he narrowed his eyebrows.

He came near me and took my face in his hands.

"L-leave me... P-please" I said.

"I want to crumble you like this, and I will, you just wait and watch, Hailey," he said and left the room.

He entered a little while later, with a belt in his hands. But before he could do anything, his hand caught my attention again.

As a good human being, I am, I looked at his hand, and suddenly all the humanity of this fucking world started raining over me.

"Y-your hand is h-hurt," I said. He looked at his hand and then at me.

"So?" he said.

"I- ah... You should... I will... uh... if you allow then c-can I b-bandage it, I... I was actually a d-doctor, I... I can't see anyone in h-hurt, y-you know"

"Oh really?" he said. "Firstly, don't you dare stutter" he added. "And. Don't. Fucking. Care. About. Me!!" he yelled.

"I-I-I... uh... b-but"

"You still wanna do it?" he asked looking at his hand and my face simultaneously. I looked at him to find any trace of anger, but there wasn't.

"Yes," I said, surprisingly not stuttering.
