"Mr De Luca, you are one to talk. Here you are blaming me for 'not doing the right thing' and here you sit before me and you do not ask about the stress I went through before and after those children were born, you weren't there when they told me our son was going to be terminally ill and the pregnancy... the foetus... should be terminated, you were not there when at 18 months old your daughter drowned in a swimming pool?! You may think pregnancy is all sunshine and rainbows but trust me... it isn't. I have heard all that I need to here from you. Just sign the papers Matteo if not for yourself, sign them for your fiancé."
I stand and walk away leaving a stunned Matteo and Stella stood at the table.
I need to see my kids.
Matteo's POV.
Following Lunch with Grace I emailed my attorney and enlightened him on the situation with Grace and the kids as well as the paper Grace asked me to sign.
To be honest, this isn't a bad situation. For years now my mother and father have been nagging me to get married and settle down, have kids and so-on, so hearing that I have 2 kids with a girl i genuinely like and could see myself marrying is like a dream come true. Except I have missed out on 3 years of their lives and I'm pretty sure Grace does not see me as even 'friends material'.
Grace is definitely a force to be reckoned with. She is a good mother and has clearly been through a lot with our kids and fears that i will take them away because well, I mean everyone knows that in a custody battle the person with the biggest assets, most money, largest house and deepest pockets will always win.
This morning I have a board meeting about the future of The Belmont, it is currently 10am and Stella is still sleeping in the large king sized bed in our room. If i want to work this thing with Grace out I am seriously going to need to up my game. Which means ending the fuck-buddy relationship i have going with Stella, but that isn't a problem, the press, they are the problem.
Sighing, I grab my briefcase with copies of important paperwork and some originals and head out the door of my apartment.
I can't believe that Arloe is/was sick. He seems such a happy little boy, and even though I haven't spoken to or seen either of my kids since the elevator thing I still fear that something is wrong. Now that I think about it Arloe's complexion seemed paler than his sisters, and he wasn't as tall as her either. I know that one Twin is always bigger than the other but something is telling me that something huge is wrong.
In the elevator on my way to the meeting I pull out my iPhone and call my assistant, I cancel all my appointments for the rest of the day and message Grace.
Hey Grace,
