"No, not yet."

"James hasn't eaten or spoken. His mate is becoming worried." I nodded. Trying to resist the urge to change the topic to James' mate.

"Darling, I have a pack to get back too," Thaddeus said bored.

I whipped my head around to look at him. "Don't you feel guilty?" I asked him angrily. He's dead because of you!" I almost shouted.

"Darling, I had to attack. Victor's pack was going to poison you all and the only way to scare him away was that I got here first," he finished.

"That's not t-t-rue! Alpha Victor and Gregory are allies."

"Scar, he's telling the truth," Carter said from behind me. I looked at him as if he'd lost his mind.

"Come on, Darling, let's get back."

"No."

"Scarlett, go with him." Carter spoke in a hard voice. I looked back at him and refused to break eye contact as I was dragged away from my home.

When we got back to Thaddeus' house, I went straight to his room.

"Downstairs," I said as the girl looked over at me in confusion.

"I'm Thaddeus' mate," she replied smirking.

"I'm sorry what? I don't speak bullshit but you can have him." I smiled cheekily at her.

"Hey, babe," she said as she got up only wearing lingerie. I rolled my eyes at her as Thaddeus' eyes raked up and down her body.
