I had to admit as Adain glared angrily at Mike that he looked pretty hot. His dark brown hair swept messily in his eyes his shirt smeared with grease. Tattoos covered both his muscles arms making me drool. For some reason I always had a thing for tattoos.
"Shut the hell up Adain. This is my shop not yours and I can employ who ever the hell I want. Now get over it or leave."
With that Sam walked out and Mike quickly pulled me after him. The door shut behind us with a loud click.
"I apologize for my nephew he can be a ass at times." Sam sighed giving me a apologetic look.
I gave a weak smile. "I really shouldn't have expected anything else from him."
Sam gave me a pitying look but quickly covered it with a smile. He showed me how to do everything and showed me where everything went. Mike had to leave but told me he'd be back to pick me up. When closing time came around and most of the guys left I looked up from my desk shocked to see Adain standing in front of me staring.
"Is something wrong?" I asked shifting in my seat.
"Yeah there is. Tell my uncle you quit then get out."
Frustration swelled in me and I slammed my hands on the desk.
"Look I get that you don't like me and don't want me here but I need this job and no one else will hire me. I have two kids to cloth and feed, rent to pay not to mention the other bills so why don't you stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours." I was breathing hard by the end of my speech and I felt dread coil in me as I realized what I had said.
"You have kids." He rasped his eyes dark and angry.
I nodded jerkily and grabbed my things quickly when I noticed Mike pulling up.
"See you tomorrow Adain." I said walking out the door. When I was securely in then car I let a deep breath and closed my eyes my heart racing. Mike placed a hand on my leg and squeezed. I gave a weak smile. When I got home I ran up stairs and entered the girls room. They both slept peacefully. I smiled as Alicia sucked her thumb her hand clutching her favorite blanket. Alyssa had her pink pacifier her little body spiraled out all over the bed.
I kissed each of them softly and went downstairs to thank my brother. I laughed when I saw him asleep on the couch half his body on the floor.
"Stanley wake up." I laughed shaking his shoulder. He mumbled but slowly opened his eyes with a frown. When he saw me he jerked up his eyes wide."I wasn't asleep I swear see their perfectly safe." He pointed to the floor where some of the girls toys sat. Panic creeped onto his face when he noticed they weren't there.
"I swear they were right there!" He cried jumping to his feet. I laughed and grasped his arm. "Stan calm down their asleep in their cribs."
He made a face then it hit him. "Oh yeah I forgot."
I shook my head but hugged him tightly and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
I opened up a large wood box and threw the girls toys in it.
"So how old are they?" He asked in a causal tone. He reached down and picked up one of Alyssa's pacifiers.
"Their one years old and their names are Alicia and Alyssa."
He smiled slightly and I wondered if he knew that I had given Alicia the name of his dead sister. See my freshman year of high school I'd been warned about everyone especially Aiden. Two years before his mother and sister had been brutally murdered in their own beds while Adain and his brother and dad were on a trip. Everyone said that after that the boys all had changed. I'd seen a picture of the sister and it had scared me how much Alicia looked like her. But I wanted to honor the girl who had died too early. The twins were identical but as a mother I could always see a difference in them.
He said nothing for a while making me feel even akwarder. I didn't really understand why he was here. He could have just left my phone on the desk since I was coming back tomorrow but for some reason he drove all the way to my house and was now sitting on my couch looking around my messy living room filled with the girls things. How did he even know where I lived?
"So uh were's their father?" He asked picking at his shirt.
"Look Adain none of this is really any of your business and I thank you for giving me my phone but its late and I'll see you tomorrow at work."
Adain stared at me before slowly rising and giving a slow nod. I let out a breath as he walked toward the door but I yelped as I was suddenly pushed against the wall his lips locked against mine. I completely lost myself as he kissed me.
