Eli watched everything in silence. Then David’s gaze met hers, only for a moment. And just as Eli had expected, David did not greet her.

Josh sighed in disappointment, but not long afterward, his gaze shifted toward the group of students from Raven University who were still standing a few steps behind them. He recognized some of their faces, especially since they were members of Raven’s basketball team, which would soon be facing Miller.

“Oh.” Josh raised his hand slightly in greeting. “Didn’t expect to run into you guys here.”
