“To be honest, I kind of regret it,” she replied.

“Regret it?”

“Because I let myself get too distracted by something unimportant. I let that problem take up too much of my time and thoughts.” Eli took a slow breath. “Now I want to focus again. Especially on singing.”

Josh immediately nodded. “Good.”

“You’re not going to say I’m too busy?”

“No. I actually support you,” Josh said casually.

Eli turned to him.

Josh smiled. “If you like singing, then keep singing. Don’t let something like that get in your way.”

For a few moments, Eli simply looked at him.

A warm feeling arose because Josh never made her feel like she had to choose between him and the things she loved. Even when he was busy with practices and games, the young man could still tell her that he would support her.

Maybe that was why Eli always felt comfortable being around Josh. To her, Josh was someone who always made everything feel easier.

“Thank you,” Eli said softly.

“For what?”

“For always supporting me.”

Josh simply smiled. “I’ll always support you.”

The sentence sounded simple, but somehow, it made Eli’s steps feel a little lighter.

Not long after, they arrived in front of the dorm. However, before Eli could say anything, her gaze caught sight of two figures standing not far from the entrance.

David and Natalie.

David immediately looked at Eli. His gaze was cold and displeased, as though Eli being with Josh was enough to stir up his emotions.

Meanwhile, Natalie looked much more cautious. The moment she saw Josh, she moved closer to David and stood slightly behind him, as if she wanted to hide behind the man’s body. Her attitude was so different from the courage she showed when speaking to others, but Eli was no longer interested in thinking about it.

She only looked at them for a moment before looking away. There was nothing left to say. Eli was too tired to let their presence disturb her peace.

She tightened her grip on the coffee cup that still had a little coffee left in it, then walked past them toward the dorm entrance.

“I’m going in first,” she told Josh.

Josh nodded. “All right, don’t stay up too late.”

Eli laughed but nodded in understanding, then walked into the dorm without looking back, leaving the three of them behind.

However, just a few seconds later, David’s voice rang out. “Josh.”

Josh stopped walking. He slowly turned around. “What?”

“I want to talk to you.”
