Eli shook her head with a smile. However, deep in her heart, she did feel excited. She had already promised Josh. More than that, she truly wanted to see him succeed. For some time now, Josh had always supported her without ever asking for anything in return. Today, she wanted to do the same.

When they began walking toward the game area, Eli happened to run into some of her classmates from Raven University who had also come to watch the semifinal. They immediately greeted her, but a few seconds later, their attention shifted to the Miller University support items Eli was carrying.

“Josh is my friend. Besides, I came with his family.”

“Friend?”

“Yes.”

One of them looked at the Miller University support items in Eli’s hands, then laughed. “What kind of friend comes all the way here carrying a complete set of support gear?”

Eli could not answer. She only laughed while shaking her head.

From a distance, Grace, who had heard the conversation, immediately joined in. “Don’t believe Eli’s words. She always says Josh is just a friend.”

“Grace!”

Laughter immediately broke out among them.

Eli looked at Grace with an annoyed expression, but she was not truly angry. Instead, she found it amusing how everyone kept teasing her. To Eli, her closeness with Josh had never meant what they imagined it did.

Josh had been by her side for too long and had become someone she trusted. Because of that, all of Josh’s attention felt completely natural to her.

She did not realize that to other people, the way Josh treated her might look very different.

“All right, stop teasing her,” Naomi said with a smile. “Let’s go inside. The game is about to start.”

They finally walked toward the game area together. The atmosphere grew busier as they approached the stands. The Miller University supporters had already filled most of their side of the stands with blue and white accessories, while the Raven University supporters were on the other side.
