We traveled in wolf form because it heightened our senses better. Henry, my beta, Savannah, his mater, Rick, my third-in-command, and Avery, who was a strong fighter, were the ones that came. I kept pushing them to go faster, which I knew wasn't fair to them, but what do you want? I was completely freaking out. People always say to stay calm in these situations, I don't understand why. No one ever does, so neither did I. I wasn't a freakin hippie!
Her scent became stronger and it led us to an abandoned warehouse, how original. We stopped and surveyed the area. Then, we started to plan out what we were going to do.
Four of us were going to go in and attack. I sent Savannah back to the house to get my truck. She wasn't very happy about this. I mean she had run all the way here, only to go back and drive back here. Plus, she thought it was kind of sexist, but Henry was glad to keep her out of danger.
Once she left, we waited for the perfect moment to strike. No lie, I was getting really jumpy. Dani was trapped just inside that building. In a few moments I would get to her and she would be safe. With me.
Dani's P.O.V.
Okay, so these guys obviously had never had a woman's influence in their life. First of all, have you ever heard of manners? I mean they just shoved me everywhere. Yeah, it's okay guys, you don't have to be gentle with me. It's not like I got shot or anything. Oh, wait, I did.
After the van had stopped at this weird, old, abandoned where house, they've been watching way to many movies, by the way, they locked me in this room. No windows, just one door. I felt paralyzed.
It was the same room I had seen in my dream. Okay, this was scary. How could this have happened. I was not physic!
While I was scared out of my mind, Big & Ugly walked in with another man. It wasn't the one that had been driving the van. This man had dark red hair and pale blue eyes. He was thinner, but still muscular. A werewolf. No doubt he was the leader, and had the little, well not really, minions. This is so cliché.
I didn't show fear. I couldn't, nor would I allow myself to. He smiled evilly at me, and I narrowed my eyes at him. Earlier, they had freed my legs so I could walk, but my hands were still tied behind my back and my mouth was gagged.
"Release he arms and free her mouth," the leader said. "She won't fight back if she has any sense."
When Big & Ugly did that, I resisted the urge to hurt him. Just because he was a big guy didn't mean I couldn't hurt him. Besides, I had sense, probably more than all the guys here. Once i was free, my hand went to my leg. There was a searing pain where the bullet had gone through my calf.
Wow. That was really sexist. He knows exactly how to make me angry. "Maybe I'm not traveling," I said. "Maybe I've been here my whole life."
The guy snorted. "A werewolf doesn't just appear, sweetheart," he said. I was getting really uncomfortable with all those pet names he kept calling me. "You had to come from a pack or a pair of wolves like us. And trust me. I know of all the loners, rouges, and stalkers."
Here goes my patience. "I didn't come from other werewolves, dip-shit," I said angrily. Okay, now I was screwed over. Hey, but what do you want from me. I can only tolerate so much.
Like a speed of light, he was at my side. He took my arm and twisted it behind my back, breaking my wrist in the process. I screamed out in pain. Then a howl sounded and all hell broke out from there.
Jace's P.O.V.
When I heard her scream, that's when I flipped. Nothing else mattered, but making sure she was safe. I should've gone in sooner, but I waited. And she got hurt. Her cry haunted me as I sprinted towards the warehouse. My pack was following me, but they were trying to stop me.
