Even before Jace knocked on the door, I knew it was him. When I opened it, I smiled at him. His hair was slightly tousled. That could happen if someone traveled in wolf form. It didn't matter I liked it. "Six thirty," I said. "Beat you're record. Were you anxious to see me?"

He smiled and nodded. When he reached out to me, I ducked and pulled away. Jace scowled at me. "Hey! That's not fair," he exclaimed.

"Actually, it's completely fair," I said matter-of-factly. "Remember how you left me this morning?"

Jace shook his head. "That's different. I'm alpha. I can do what I want."

I rolled my eyes. Is he really going there? "And I'm your mate. So, I have a right to do what I want."

Jace growled. And I silenced him. "My brothers don't know," I said. Only lying 2/3 of it. Immediately, he shut up. "Come on," I said as I took his hand and led him to the living room. Once he sat on the couch, I went upstairs to find Ryan. I knocked on his door.

The door opened and I saw Ryan standing there. "Um, J-Jace's here. I mean... if you st-still want t-to meet him," I stuttered. Damn. Why do I have to get all nervous? This is embarrassing...

Ryan laughed at me. "Yeah. God Dani, you're like a tomato! Jeez. You really like this guy don't you?"

My blush became more pronounced. "Let's just get this over with," I grumbled.

As we made our way down stairs, I heard voices. Shit! Cody and Ben! They were like bombarding him with questions and that.

"So, you don't go to school?" Ben asked.

"And you're eighteen?" Cody questioned.

"Cody! Ben!" I hissed. Jace looked at me and chuckled.

"I don't mind," he said and stood up. He walked over to me and Ryan. "Hey, I'm Jace Broderick," he said and held out his hand. Ryan shook it.

"I'm Danielle's older brother, Ryan," he said smirking at me. He knew I hated being called by my full name. It was just so... girlie. I kicked him and he cursed under his breath. Then again, I was a werewolf, so I hear.

Ryan cleared his throat and held up his index finger. "Yeah, um... I'm still in the room."

I forced myself to pull away from my mate. "Right, well. Yeah, he's the alpha and my mate." Jace nodded in agreement and wrapped an arm around my shoulder in a protective manner.

"I can see that," Ryan observed. "Well, I want to know if I can trust that my little sister will be safe with all of you guys."

Jace wanted to growl with the thought of me not being safe. I put a hand on his knee to relax him. "If anyone touches her, they're dead," Jace said in a hard voice.

That must've been one of those voices that make humans know that they are in the presence of someone stronger than themselves. Ryan didn't argue, but just simply nodded.

"If it's okay with you, I'd like to move in this next weekend," I said looking at Jace.

He nodded and turned to my brother. "Is that okay with you?" he asked. Okay, this was going to get real old real fast. If Jace asked Ryan for permission on something that has to do with me all the time, he wouldn't live to be nineteen.
