I nervously shuffled from foot to foot. My palms were sweaty and my knees were weak and felt like they were going to give out any second now. I couldn't stand still and my legs was continually jigging up and down giving me something else to focus on. But it wasn't working.
I was wearing my favourite pair of denim shorts. They were the typical denim colour with a tiny rip on the right leg. I paired them with a bright green singlet top that had spaghetti straps. The shirt was a flowy, making it have a dressed up look. He told me to wear something nice, and this was as nice as I got. I was wearing my old pair of black converses with a white toe and laces and had a black cardigan in my hand. I didn't have a bag, but I had a purse that could hold my phone.
I had washed my hair as soon as I got home from the beach and let it dry naturally, making it wavy and still keeping the beach look; just the way I like it. I wasn't wearing makeup, but I did put a swipe of mascara on.
I wasn't a girl who wore skirts, dresses and who put gunk on their face for fun. If you make me wear one, you are paying for the dress or skirt, then paying me to wear it. I find them so uncomfortable and I honestly don't see how people wore them for the fun of it. There's nothing fun about it. There's nothing comfortable about it. Their just plain annoying.
I was standing next to my car that was parked in the beach car park. The sun had long disappeared but the summer heat remained. The air was warm, perfect temperature if you ask me. Wasn't too cold for a shirt with sleeves, but warm enough so I wasn't sweating.
Well I wasn't sweating from the heat. I was sweating from the nerves. I subtly lifted my arms from my side and placed my hands on my hips to cool down a bit and to "air out". I felt gross. And the nerves surely weren't helping. I had only been here for two minutes tops and I was already ready to go home.
"Alana," the cool, collected voice appeared from beside me and I whipped my head around to come face to face with Michael.
He was wearing a pair of blue shorts that stopped just above his knees and a plain white tee-shirt. A small smile was playing on his lips as he looked me up and down, then looked me in the eye.
"You look stunning." A warm smile took over his face and I almost passed out then and there. As much as he scares me, I hate to admit that the boy was hot. His brown eyes were full of so much joy, and seemed to get even more amused when he saw the small blush creeping onto my face.
I mumbled a thanks and he led me to the grass patch where families went throughout the day for family picnics.
"It's ahh, nothing special or anything. But I knew you loved the beach and though you might just want to eat here." He said looking into my eyes.
"It's nice." I said and smiled slightly at him, even though it was half forced. My heart was racing at an unhealthy pace, beating back and forth just as fast as when I go for a run. Michael didn't seem to notice, and beamed while leading me to the table.
All different foods were there, ranging from Pizza and Maccas to chocolate and lollies.
Something tells me he isn't a cook.
"When you're a wolf, you grow up and learn to fight in your spare time. How to protect yourself, your pack and your mate for the future." He said while eyeing me carefully.
"You also go to human school, learn everything about the history of wolves at home. I never had a lot of spare time, especially with who I grew up with." He explained. "And I've never really needed a car so I have no way to listen to the radio, but I did purchase one the other day." He explained.
"What did you get?" I asked.
"A car."
I nodded my head awkwardly unsure on how to continue the conversation.
"I got one the other day because if you are persistent on living like a human, I'll need a car to take you places." He said. I had no answer to that and I waited for him to continue, but when he didn't I spoke.
