"Your hair is getting a bit long," I teased and ran my fingers through his hair that was starting to get a bit longer than usual.
"Not you too. Leave me alone!" he whined while Tanner and I cracked up laughing.
"Ahh, it's good to have you back Blake." Tanner grinned.
"Annnnnnnnnnnnd, you've lost your talent." I laughed as Blake paddled back out to where Tanner and I were sitting on our boards out the back in the water.
"What talent? He never had any too loose." Tanner joked and high fived me.
"Fuck off," Blake muttered. "Just because I actually work and don't get to surf every day," he defended himself emphasizing the word work.
"How dare you? I work!" Tanner wined in a high pitched voice.
"You yell at people and tell them what to do to make themselves not fat anymore." Blake stated dryly.
"I'm not fat," I muttered under my breath sending a death glare towards Blake.
"His training you?" Blake asked in pure amazed. "But, it's, its Tanner. His a prick. You don't need training." He stuttered
"A prick that gives a friends and family discount." Tanner stated proudly, but also said in a tone that was a warning to Blake.
"And believe it or not, it's actually kind of helping." I said, ignoring Tanners playful hurt glare directed towards me.
"Well I work harder than the both of you combined," he muttered the poor comeback.
"Were just teasing you man." Tanner said.
It's true that Blake works harder than the both of us combined. Blake gets flown to other parts of Australia to do anything from construction in Queensland, to working in the mines in Western Australia. The amount of physical activity you do while working there is ridiculous and very tiring and straining on your body.
"You have some talent. A tiny amount, but there's some there." Tanner teased.
"Geeze Tan, how kind of you to say." Blake grinned then flipped his board.
"Oh come on! What is with people flipping me off my board?" Tanner spluttered as soon as his head popped up from the water.
"You deserved it," Blake and I replied at the exact time, then turned to each other and grinned.
When he said that he would protect me with his own life, I wanted to never leave him from the emotions coursing throughout my body. I also wanted to tell him to stop being so ridiculous and not to be dramatic. So after swapping phone numbers, he made me promise to text or call him as soon as I got home. His reply to me was extremely quick, ad he finished the text with "make sure to lock to doors and stay safe. Xx'
Seeing those eight words and letters made me fall asleep with a huge smile on my face.
"And the date was with someone who I think I like." I said quietly while smiling down at my board and biting my lip.
Blake's face looked horrified by the thought of me dating a guy.
Yes, I've dated before, many times actually. But Blake was always like this. Even though we only kind of get along and our relationship is based off teasing one another, he still doesn't want his "baby sister to get hurt."
Last night during our "talk," I finally learnt practically everything I needed to know about werewolves. Although I was freaked out at some stuff, I found it extremely interesting. I still refused to see his "wolf', as he calls it. That's too much for my brain to handle as well as the shit load of information I was told.
Our agreement was to travel at a "human" pace. It took a lot of persuading for Michael not to sweep me off my feet and take me back to Belmont. His wolf gets extremely anxious when his not around me. He constantly wants me to be around so he knows I'm safe and what I'm doing. Bit full on, but what the wolf wants the wolf wants. I came to understand some of his action now, but his temper is something I can't understand.
I have a life here with friends, family and a job. However, I was told that every day after work he had to see me. Not just for himself but for his wolf. There was no way I would just pick up and move my stuff two hours away just for a werewolf declaring me his mate.
But the scary thing is, that the thought didn't make me feel scared.
