"Come on Michael, you need to gain control of you wolf. I know you, and this isn't what you're like." Silence hung in the air apart from the usual quiet growling. "If you don't gain control back, Alpha Reece will have no option but to kill you." I tried saying it with a straight face, but my voice betrayed me by cracking slightly when I told him he could quite possibly die. I figured telling him the facts that Maddie and Alpha Reece told me because then he knew the consequences of not pulling his act together.
"I know this is my fault," I admitted to him and out loud for the first time. "I honestly feel horrible about it." Finally turning my head to face him, I gasped at how close he was to the bars. Only inches away from the bars, his head sat perched upon his front paws. His bright red observing my every action and word,
"But you need to snap out of this. If he, if you die it will be all my fault and I don't know how I'd deal with that. I still, I still care about you." I admitted quietly. We drifted off into silence for another moment.
"Please talk to me," I said into the silence. For the moment I stopped talking I noticed that once again the growls disappeared and when I stopped talking we were plunged into complete silence that felt almost deafening.
"Even if you're yelling at me, telling me how much you hate me for what I did." I was practically pleading with him. "I need some type of response from you."
All he did was lazily blink once.
Groaning in frustration, I threw my head against that wall quite harshly but I let it go. A small growl sounded from it but I brushed it off.
"You'll hurt yourself if you do that." My heart instantly started fluttering at the deep voice that I had missed. My head snapped to him and he was sitting cross legged on the floor with his hand gripping the bars loosely.
He had no clothes on and I instantly turned a bright red and felt awkward. "There's some shorts at the door," I muttered remembering I saw them as I walked in. "Be right back."
I quickly stood up and jogged to the door and collected the pair of light blue shorts sitting by the heavy metal door. When I approached the cell, I lowered my head and passed them in without a sound. I felt the cool material being taken from my hands and I kept my back turned as I heard him pulling them up his muscular legs.
When I heard no more sound, I hesitantly turned around to make sure he was decent. And boy was he.
His hair was all messed up in a sexy way and his red eyes still glowed brightly. His torso was on display and even after the week and a bit of not eating and sitting around he still looked extremely fit.
I cleared my throat awkwardly as he studied me checking him out and the red stayed on my cheeks but he didn't look affected. His emotion stayed passive as he continued to stare at me. I took my position from before and sat down and after a moment he sat down again with his legs crossed and his whole body facing mine.
"Will you say something else?" I asked with and shifted my body to mirror how he was sitting but my hands were not on the bars and placed gently in my lap. "Anything at all?"
"Why are you here?" I almost had a mini heart attack from the happiness I just had from him talking to me.
"Alpha Reece," I started but was sharply cut off with a growl.
"Don't treat the ass with the respect of a title. He hurt you." He frowned slightly and his voice sounded dangerous but I nodded my head and continued.
"Reece," I corrected myself. "He called me a few nights ago and told me about your ahh, state."
"How the fuck did he get your number?" his dangerous voice growled again. I shrugged my shoulders not knowing the answer. The thought never popped into my mind but now that he mentioned it I was slightly curious.
"Maybe he looked in your phone contact numbers," I said as a question. A slight nod was the answer I got then I continued.
His last sentence stung a little bit knowing that if his human half had any feeling at all, they had disappeared as soon as I rejected him. I felt disappointed in myself for feeling this way.
You rejected him Alana, as if he would still want you, I scolded myself in my head.
I kept a brave face and tried to make sure the affect the comment had on me didn't show.
"Can I stay?" I questioned pleading with my eyes. "There's a mattress in that cell I can sleep on."
Maddie looked hesitant and bit her lip looking lost. "I don't know, Reece said you only had an hour."
"You're the fucking Luna, grow some backbone." Michael hissed at her, his anger and frustration starting to appear once again. Maddie narrowed her eyes at him but nodded her head stiffly.
"Fine, I'll bring some stuff for you so you can get comfortable. Ill also have a phone so you can call me as soon as you get uncomfortable and want to leave." She informed me then left the room.
20 minutes later she came back with clothes, food, a phone, sleeping bag, pillow and a blow up mattress as well as a few other things for me to stay on. I walked her to the door that and told her a thanks and gave her a quick hug. As she walked away I took a deep breath preparing myself and closed the door.
Who knows what would happen tonight.
