I watched in awe or fear as Michael's body slowly turned from his human form into a wolf. I wasn't sure if it was amazing watching this or sickening. The sound of cracking bones that were bending and snapping, all shifting into obscure angles and creating him into another being was something I had obviously never experienced before, and I honestly has no idea on how to process it.
Growls were made all throughout the process and I didn't realise I was holding my breath until I found myself gasping for breath. Alpha Reece's hand was still wrapped tightly around my waist and he was slightly tugging me backwards and behind him for protection. I felt numb, I had no clue what to do and I felt helpless.
A loud, ear shattering howl broke me out of my frozen state and my eyes were only focused on him. His wolf was the same deep brown that matched his eyes when he wasn't pissed off, but that was the only similarity between him and the wolf that I played with in his front garden mere weeks ago.
The wolf before me looked like he was suffering from emotional pain, and a lot of it. His growls were threatening and he kept snarling and snapping his jaws at Alpha Reece. He looked vicious and ready to kill. The bright red of his eyes were filled with nothing but pure anger and as much as it scared me I knew I couldn't not help him.
I tried breaking free from Alpha Reece but his strong hold on me kept me in place and behind his broad frame. "Let go of me!" I shouted at him and hit his back over and over again in hopes of him letting me go. He didn't flinch and his gaze didn't leave Michael for a moment.
"So what, you can help him?" he asked sarcastically. "Look at him! His wolf is in complete control and he couldn't tell the difference from his mate or a complete stranger. All he wants is blood, and the only way he can do that is by killing. Even you." He stated.
A louder snarl sounded from Michael and he flung himself into the bars, his heavy body crashing into the metal causing a loud echo around the empty room.
"He won't hurt me, he promised me he never will!" I defended Michael by screaming at Reece. "Let go of me!" I shouted finally prying his strong grasp from my waist. Alpha Reece was reluctant to let go so I'm assuming me pushing his arm away did nothing and he did it all from the thoughts in his mind that he was thinking about.
"He won't, but his wolf might. You're no longer mates." He replied coldly and still not gazing at me. Crying out in frustration I felt my heart crack while looking in on Michael. He was so helpless, filled with so much anger and hurt from what my actions did to him.
Alpha Reece seemed to be in thought and I quickly stepped around him and ran up to the metal bars. I was careful not to get to close to the bars in case his wolf did hurt me but I put very little space between us.
"For fucks sake Alana!" Reece exclaimed. "Come here," his arm once again grabbed around my waist and dragged me backwards behind him. "Now stay!" He commanded using an authoritative voice on me that would have made me back down if I wasn't so determined to help Michael. I continued struggling from being him and hearing how restless Michael was all cooped up made me feel even more agitated.
Digging my nails into alpha Reece's arm I mustered all my strength to turn him to face me. When his eyes locked with mine I knew I finally had his full on attention.
"You said that bars have silver in them, he can't get passed them so it's impossible for him to hurt me." I stated. "You have to trust me on this one. Even you know the bond didn't break fully and his wolf still won't intentionally hurt me. I've made progress already." I reasoned with him.
"Really? His still angry and wanting to kill everyone." Alpha Reece stated, pointing the facts out. "So whatever progress you made was just your imagination."
When Alpha Reece left the growls didn't disappear like they did the last time it was just me and him, however the thumping against the metal bars and the threatening snarls disappeared. I was back to square one with the constant growling in the background but this time he was a wolf and not a human.
"Michael," I whispered quietly to him and his head snapped over to look my way. He was breathing heavily, his chest expanding and contracting every time he took a breath in and released a breath.
"You okay?" I questioned. I knew that I would be having another one sided conversation with him but as long as he calmed down I wouldn't mind at all. I got no response from him and his wolf kept staring at me blankly.
"Need anything? Like some food? Or some pants so you can ahh, shift back?" I questioned. When I got another silence from him I tightened my pony tail, a habit I did when I was nervous or had no clue on what to do.
By now I was only standing the meter away from the bars and stayed put, not wanting Alpha Reece to walk back into the room and find me breaking his one rule. I stood with my feet together, one arm hanging loosely down by my side and the other crossed over my stomach while holding the arm by my side. I watched with curious eyes and just observed Michael's behaviour.
After about 5 minutes of just looking at one another, his wolf finally moved and flopped down onto the ground in a lying position. A small smile made its way to my face and I took the movement as a sign of him calming down slightly and not being as angry anymore.
I made my way over to the wall and sat down in my previous spot, how I was before the drama started. I closed my eyes and sighed.
