Looking down at my stomach I saw a fresh wound caused by the bullet that just scraped my body. The tiny shiny bullet lay gleaming right next me embedded slightly in the grass and dirt and I let out a shaky breath of relief.

That was close.

The sound of bodies thumping together sent my eyes bolting back to the scene infront of me, Michael laying on top of Richard who was pinned beneath his most ruthless form and you could see the defeat in his eyes.

Richard knew his time had come.

"You good for nothing dog." Richard hissed at Michael then had the courage to spit in his face. As the wad of spit landed on the middle of Michael's cheek he didn't blink or try to remove the spit.

He slowly dug his claws into Richards shoulder blades making him cry out on pain from 10 claws puncturing his skin deeply and causing blood to seep out quickly.

Michael growled warningly at him and I knew right then and there that he was going to make Richards exit from the earth a slow and painful one.

A dry laugh escaped Richards mouth that left me looking in confusion.

"You actually think I'm this easy to take down, Mutt?"

Richard looked positively crazy. His eyes were wide and his pupils dilated into only tiny specks. The laugh sent chills down my spine his as his arms were thrashing violently, but not with much power or for long due the weight of Michael holding him down. If you didn't know what was happening or the situation, it would look like Richard was having a stroke of some type.

Just before Michael could do whatever was running through his mind, Richard somehow, through his pain and disadvantages, rolled out from under Michael catching him off guard. Immediately he sprang into a defensive position, standing with his left hand protecting his face and his knife gripped tightly in his right hand, pointed towards Mikey prepared and ready for a fight.

My breath hitched in my throat and as I tired to push myself up to help my mate, a harsh bolt of pain shot through my entire arm and stomach. A cry left my lips as I fell back onto the ground causing Michael's head to whip around and see what was wrong.

"Watch out!" I shouted to him as my heart beat increased, pounding in my chest and against my rib cage. Richard lunged towards Michael, knife first when he was looking at me catching him off guard. I stared completely horrified and concern filled me when I saw the silver blade disappear into Michael's side. My heart clenched when he let out a slight groan of pain.

"Never take your eyes off a silver blade, Mutt." Richard spat at him, letting go of the the fatal weapon so it was embedded in Michael's side. Michael's couldn't get it out from being in wolf form and he was to far away (about three meters) from me for me to help him. I watched in awe as he shifted back into his fully naked glory, still not used to the transition or the fact that even in the most horrible of times, that he is the most attractive man and is one that loves me.

His face was turning red from the lack of oxygen and my body finally found the strength the move. I couldn't just watch my mate suffocate and I gritted my teeth as I crawled to my knees, making my short way to the gun that flew from Rochards hands moments ago.

Each crawl sent a new fire shooting through out my entire body but I pushed through the pain for Michael. He protected me so many times before and I needed to make it up to him now.

Finally I fell on my back when the cool metal of the gun was in my fingers.

"Let him go." I shouted at Richard my voice hoarse as I pointed the gun to him.

My hands were shaking uncontrollably as I though about actually shooting a man but I pushed the though to the back of my mind.

"I fucking said let him go!" I yelled loudly and flicked the safety off the gun, loading it and pointing it at Richard, finger on the trigger.

Slowly, his grip loosened and Michael finally gasped for air, punching Richard in the face then rushed over to me.
