His here, I celebrated mentally in my head. I couldn't believe Michael is here to help me out of this life threatening mess and I was instantly filled with hope.
"How the fuck is he out?" Richard muttered to himself in shock from above me, still peering into the trees for any sigh of movement.
From how close and loud the howl was I knew he was just behind the tree line somewhere.
Slowly, Richard rose to his feet and slowly reached for the gun tucked into the band of his cargo pants. The knife was in his other hand as he flipped the safety switch off the gun, his eyes focused on finding the source of his threat.
I wanted to help Michael, I wanted to push Richard to the ground or something but I couldn't. I was in so much pain, my flesh all torn up and my muscles aching. I couldn't find the strength and if I sat up the slightest, my stomach would rub and move sending a new burst if pain through me.
Alana, I need you to get inside now, do you understand me Love? Michael flowed into my head.
I-I can't. Mikey I can't move I'm in so much pain. I cried to him hating that I sounded so weak.
His fucking dead, the son of a bitch. Michael growled and the next thing I knew, a flash of dark brown was shooting out from the tree line and towards Richard.
I wish I could say Richard was caught off guard, that he didn't have time to defend himself, that he droppped his weapon, but he didn't. He was prepared and with his fast reflexes he was pointed the gun to where Michael is running towards us at such a speed my eyes could hardly see keep up with him.
A gun shot filled the air, the loud sound echoing through the space as my ears rang from the sound. I didn't realise I was holding my breath untill I let out a shaky breath of air in my lungs as Michael missed the harmful bullet and kept heading towards Richard.
From the tense posture of Richard I could tell he is nervous, and I couldn't blame him. Michael looked taller, faster and stronger from the last time I saw his wolf. He was moving at such a speed with strength and a powerful dominance flowed from him then a thought came to mind and I could feel a light bulb light up in my mind.
The extra speed, strength, height. The more powerful feeling surrounding him was because we mated. The mating process was completed that night in the cells and he had the power of a full Alpha. And a rogue that was a full Alpha was apparently extreemly difficult to take down and I automatically felt at ease a tiny bit more.
Another loud shot filled the forrest and made my ears ring once again from the piercing sound and my eyes managed to follow Michael's fast movement as he moved just before the trigger was pulled.
Michael just stood there, tall and powerful on this four legs and glared at Richard who tensed up even more. With an even hand he rose the gun towards Michael who just stood there, slowly circling his victim to see when the right time to strike would be.
It made me happy that his anger wasn't out weighing his rationality. If his anger got the better of him and he just attacked there is a higher chance of him being hurt and it was the last thing I wanted for him.
"I don't know how you managed to get out of that cell," Richard spoke through clenched teeth and a tight voice, not eyes not moving from his threat, knowing I couldn't attack him.
I was in to much physical pain and it hurt to breathe, and I hated how I was to weak to help, not that I'd know how to. The last thing I wanted was for me to interfere and get Michael hurt from my mistake, but I didn't want to just sit here, in pain and completly useless and wait for something to happen.
"But at least you get to watch your mate die." In a quick movement, Michael lunged forward growling and claws extended as Richards arm holding the gun flashed towards me. Not even looking at me he pulled the trigger and I closed my eyes, waiting for either even more pain or to black out forever.
But none of that came apart from a tiny stinging sensation on my side.
