Chris

As we reached my workplace, she was too sad suddenly and I didn't know why. I could have asked her, but I think... she should open up on her own, shouldn't she?

"Hey," I stopped the car. "We're here"

She didn't reply and I looked at her. She was lost in thoughts, looking right at the front.

"Ash?"

I finally took her hand. "Huh?" She was scared.

"We are here," I repeated and she looked around and nodded.

"Ah... ok... alright"

I nodded back and sighed. I will not ask her, she should tell me if something is wrong herself.

"I'll... I'll just... I'll just have some rest, okay?" she said as she entered the house. "Can I sleep here today?"

"Yes. Um... Same room or..." I was confused.

"If you don't mind... different"

"I don't mind, It is alright. Bye," I smiled at her and she smiled back. She went to another room and I called my hacker.

"Have you found out?"

"Not accessible sir. The access was completely denied"

"There might be some--"

"Sorry, sir. It looks like a National-security level server. We can't hack it. it is too risky and too difficult"

"National-level?"

"Yes boss"

I didn't get it. National-Level? It is too much. Who is behind this? Who the hell is behind this!

I was worried sick. I could have asked her. I should.

I knocked on her door. Two times. Three. No reply.

Maybe she slept. I sighed and prayed to God. I don't usually do that, but I think I need him.

Ashley

'What?' I read the conversation on my phone again. How can he be...? And what is he saying? Fiancee?

'You read it right, love. Very rare people get to talk to me like this' he had texted back.

'Are you... serious?'

'Do people, like me, joke?'

'What do you want?' I had questioned back.

'You'

I threw my phone on the bed in frustration. No matter how many times I read it, it remains the same. I mean, that is so... cringy. He is in the Mafia. I hate violence. How can he even think like this?

This message has been fucking with my mind ever since. I can't even tell Chris. How do you tell your boyfriend that your 'supposed' fiancé showed up?

I sighed heavily thinking about everything. I put on my earbuds and started listening to music. It is definitely a plain threat and a scam. I am not engaged, and that too with some Mafia boss.

I kept my earbuds down and tried to sleep.

Heather

"God, I can't wait!!" Sarah yelled and I sighed.

What is this girl? Even 10-year-olds are better.

"Calm down, Sarah," I whispered. "Or something bad is gonna happen"

"Get to the point"

"Well, I was just asking..." she lowered her head. "Will you take her away from him forever?"

"Of course. She is gonna marry me within a week. What else then? She is 25 years old. That is enough for being single. And that boyfriend doesn't count, because, well, she is engaged!"

"Thank you, Mr. Vincent"

"I am gonna ask you this..." I said and she looked scared. "Can you bring Lara here?"

"L-Lara Jones?"

"Yes"

"But..."

"No questions, don't you know the rules? No interruptions!"

"Y-Yes I do! I will bring her here"

"By?"

"By overmorrow"

"I need her tomorrow"

"Alright... I-I will"

"Good," I smirked at her scared figure.

I love when I see the fear in others' eyes. Life has played with me, so now, I will play with other's lives. God, I love this. And trust me, Ashley, you will too, because you love Lara and damn, you wouldn't let her die now, will you?

Don't ever love anyone, Ashley, because they might and they most possibly will become your greatest weakness. If you wanna live in a world like this, you gotta be selfish.

Like I will be when I marry you and destroy Chris.
