"Ash?" I looked at her with concern.

"Chris, there was something..." she hugged me suddenly.

"What? Where?"

"I don't know! I think that window..." she whispered.

"Tell me clearly, Ash," I told her and she nodded.

"Firstly, let's go to the room,"

"Alright," I held her hand and took her to the room.

"There was something..." she started telling me. "Or someone near that window"

"I will take care of it, Ash, don't worry," I assured her.

"I don't feel right, Chris..."

I hugged her. "It is alright"

She sighed. "I hope"

I checked the CCTV camera footage of the window's side, and I couldn't see anything or anyone. Maybe it was just her illusion.

She was on the balcony, as she needed some fresh air. I went to her.

"Mmh. To freshen up the mood, may I have the honor to go out with you?"

She smiled. "That would be awesome"

I looked at her lovingly and kept my hand around her nape.

"Aishh, let's go..." she said.

"Wait," I kept my other hand there too.

"You are too romantic to be the cold boss!" She exclaimed.

"Who said I am the cold boss to you? Who said I am romantic to anyone other than you?"

"Yes, you aren't and don't you dare, either!" She pulled me by my shirt.

"Oh, so you are threatening me?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Of course"

I laughed. "Alright, good going"

She laughed too. Finally.

"So, let's go!" I exclaimed.

Heather

"Sure," I complimented Sarah.

"Thanks, Heather"

"Bye Sarah,"

"Bye," She replied and left my office.

Sarah.

I hate this girl.

But I have to be good to her.

I feel frustrated every time I talk to her.

My phone started ringing and I picked it up.

"Job done!" he exclaimed.

"Your salary doubled, Jason!" I replied back.

"Thank you, mam! I am so happy!"

I cut the call and sat back comfortably. This is one of the best days of my life.

"May I come in?" I heard a voice.

"Come in"

"Mam. According to recent data, our company is the second leading company in the world. The first one remains to be The Brown Association. In order to--"

"Cut to the chase"

"We need to get this deal to make it to the top"

"How do we do that?"

"Snatch this deal from Mr. Chris Brown"

"I am not"

"Please"

"Okay," he smiled faintly.

But behind that faint smile, you were crying. What is wrong, Chris? Why can't you just share it with me?

Ashley

We reached our hotel after a small drive. I opened the door to our room.

"I like this teddy! It is so freaking cute!" I tried to lighten the atmosphere as I entered the room.

I didn't hear any reply, instead the sound of the door being locked. I turned to face him.

"Chris?" I asked, referring to the lock. "You really don't need to lock it"

"I will," he replied.

I looked at him with an unsure expression, before going to the bed and sitting down. He was rather angry and I didn't even know the reason.

"Why are you angry, Chris? I know you told me not to ask any questions, but I can't let you be angry... please?" He took a seat beside me.

"I don't wanna be angry, Ash," he took my hand. His touch was harsh, and quite cold. "But I am"

"Just give me a reason. I will improve..."

He left my hand and took out his phone. "Do you know Jason?"

"Jason...  um... oh! Ms. Heather's assistant?" I remembered him.

"Yes," he replied.

"Um... what about him?"

"He asked you on a date, and you approved,"

"What? No! What the hell are you talking, Chris--"

"Shut up Ashley!!" he yelled and I stopped.

What is wrong with him?

"Chris..." I whispered.

"Give me a minute. I need to think about things and also..." he looked at his phone. "Show you a lot of things"
