I nodded slowly. I didn't know what else to do.
After a minute, he took my hand again. This time, it was a warm touch.
"Look, Ash," he looked at me, and I followed him. "I love you, don't do this"
"Don't do what, Chris... I... He just asked me to meet him. It is nothing like you are imagining," I clarified.
"I saw the footage," he showed his phone's screen to me. "He asked you out on coffee"
"Yes. Just a coffee. Can't you trust me, Chris?"
"Ash..."
"Chris. Trust me"
"I trust you, Ash but are you really this naive? Don't you know the meaning of what he asked?"
"I know... I get it. But trust me, I agreed just because he is our business partner. This is gonna be so awkward if I don't agree... do you understand me?"
"But that doesn't mean you are gonna agree to everything"
"But it isn't everything... Chris, it is just a coffee"
He sighed. "I trust you, but I don't trust him"
"I understand you," I took his hand. "I do. You care about me. But this shouldn't come between my duties now, should it?"
"This is not your duty"
"This is a part of my duties. Keeping a good relationship with my clients. And for that, I need you to trust me, alright?"
He sighed once again and then nodded. "Alright, but only this time. There is just no second time you will go out with some boy other than me"
"Okay! I will ask you next time" I winked at him and he smiled. "I hope you don't even need to ask the next time. I mean, I hope no one asks you out the next time, alright?"
"Yeah, okay, I get it," I smiled at him back.
Heather
"Great job," I complimented Jason.
"I am getting so used to you compliments, Ms. Heather," He smiled.
"Yes, you are working so nicely nowadays, I am really impressed"
"I am glad"
"Now," I turned in a serious mood. "What about your first date with Ashley?"
"Well, I made sure that Chris looks at the footage where I asked her out and she agreed, which sure would have made him doubt her. Also, I think they had a fight"
"Wouldn't that be an obstacle in your date? Wouldn't Chris try to stop her?"
"Yeah, but it is worth it. You know, this trust is a bitchy thing. Once broken, it can never be the same again. I just hope my plan created a lot of misunderstandings between them. That is all I want from this all"
"Mhm, I loved your plan, Jason, but only if it works"
"It is confirmed that Chris was quite angry. Only if that resulted in a fight, or better, a break-up, it is a clean win!"
"Yes, it is. Alright, tell me your plan for this date"
Unknown
"Really?"
"Yes, Boss!"
"I want her soon. You have a complete week. And if you fail..." I took out my gun and shot just right and left of his face. It missed him by an inch. "This inch will be long gone"
He nodded and looked down. I could see him shaking.
This is his fear. He fears of getting shot a lot. He is so afraid of guns that he'd rather be stabbed by a knife.
"Leave," I ordered everyone and within a minute, the room was vacant.
I am finally getting you, and I am so happy. This has to be the second-best day of my life, fiancée.
Ashley
"That is crazy!" I screamed in happiness.
"Oh yeah? Calm down, girl," Chris smirked and sat down across me.
He looked at me while I smiled at him. He is gonna give me a birthday surprise. I never did till now. Lara was too bad at surprises.
He pushed the table between us away and extended his hand.
"Your hand?" he questioned and I gave mine to him.
He pulled me suddenly and then held my waist, and made me sit on his lap. My face was facing his, and I could feel his warm breath doing wonders.
"I love you, Ash," he whispered before leaning down.
