Carl snapped, "Nothing could be more important than your recovery."

"Catching the culprit, of course. You know that the same person from back then is still out there, don't you?"

"I'll take care of it."

"They don't trust you."

Carl sounded frustrated. "You have everything planned out, so why can't it work without you? Is the world supposed to stop rotating if you're not in it?"

After he left, Noelle immediately called Alfred, who instantly picked up the phone and asked, "Are you feeling any better? Magnus and I are both swamped right now, so we haven't had time to visit you at the hospital."

"I get it. Now that Cedric's not around, the company must have a lot going on."

"That's all some trivial stuff. The most important thing is that our plan has officially started. Ivy should've received word of the kidnapping, and giving her a little trouble makes it better for us to make our move."

Noelle nodded. "Good. It's time she tasted some real pain."

Ivy's gaze darkened. There were too many people she could think of.

Then, she turned to Mia and said, "Mia, you're close to Eason. Do you have any idea where he might've gone?"

"Me? How would I know? Honestly, you never should've sent him abroad in the first place. He didn't want to leave, and if he stayed with us, none of this would've happened."

Ivy clenched her jaw and stood up in frustration, "I'm going to search for him."
