Harrison was staring at a document on his computer screen. The news didn't cause even a flicker of emotion on his face, but Burnett felt the temperature in the expansive office plummet.

After a few seconds of chilling silence, Harrison scoffed. "She's lost her mind."

"Her belly is showing, sir," Burnett confirmed cautiously. "Are you certain the child isn't yours?"

Harrison finally lifted his gaze, his eyes sharp. "Are you questioning me? Why would you even need to confirm something so absurd?"

A shiver went down Burnett's spine. He quickly explained, "It's just that… you and Miss Thompson were once very close."
