Crystal had gone up to the hill to plant some seedlings. Once she got there, she started transplanting all the nurtured herbs. She was swamped with tasks, and they were barely able to catch a sight of her.
At the moment, Miranda received a call.
"Hello?"
"Hi, is this Miranda Hawk? This is..."
A moment later, Miranda hung up, frowning.
It was them. Marion had already mentioned something about it, but she really didn't want anything to do with those people.
Yet here they were, reaching out themselves.
Early in the next morning, Miranda got a call from Carter.
"Miranda, what have you been up to these past couple of days? Why haven’t you come out to hang?"
Miranda sighed, "Carter, do you think I have as much free time as you?"
Carter sounded a bit hurt. "I thought you didn’t want to hang out with me anymore. You haven’t reached out at all these past few days."
Miranda felt speechless. Carter continued, "I know you’ve been hanging out with Hugo and the others without me."
Miranda got into her car and started the engine. "When did I do that?"
Carter whined, "I saw it on their Facebook. He called you the soft-hearted deity."
Miranda was silent. What nonsense.
"I don't care. You’ve been hanging out with them behind my back and not with me. You're playing favorites," Carter protested, sounding as if he was deeply wronged.
He had been sending her messages these past few days too. But she couldn't be bothered to respond.
Honestly, he was quite the social butterfly, a drastic kind.
She drove to a high-end restaurant. As soon as she stepped out of the elevator, she spotted a familiar figure. That silver-haired, eccentric teen was none other than Carter. His face lit up with joy when he saw Miranda.
"Miranda!"
Miranda was equally surprised. Could Carter have put a tracker on her? How did he always manage to bump into her?
Before she could ask, Carter grabbed her and pulled her to the side.
Seeing Carter's earnest and urgent expression, Miranda didn't resist. He led her to a booth and sat down, using the menu to obscure their faces.
There was a sparse green plant wall in front of the booth, and through it, Miranda could clearly see the table nearby. A middle-aged man in a suit, with a pen clipped to his chest pocket and sharp features, was sitting there.
The man seemed to be waiting for someone, occasionally glancing toward the entrance.

The readers' comments on the novel: Kiss My Revenge The Heiress Strikes Back
In what world was it ever okay for people to like people who hit and punch them? Miranda deserves someone who doesn't hit people, she needs someone who commands respect through kindness, who could show her a world where people respond more to kindness. All this shows is that it's all about money. There was no character development for Elian. He is the typical boring man, tough but soft for the heroine. Seb is the typical mysterious, quiet and strong. Can you introduce another character who would really pique Miranda's interest from the start please. All the stories I've ever read are about strong people getting together, kings, alphas, queens, powered individuals. What about someone ordinary but not too ordinary, someone middle class but hard-working, someone relatable? Okay ,rant over, bye...
I liked it before but her choosi g Elian made it boring pretty fast. He is too childish in front of her. It's your story though. I was hoping she'd neither choose Elian nor Sebastian but someone else. They are now too overpowered, it was getting redundant to read that they're the best at everything. Too much of a power couple is too much. Bye!...
Will there be an update soon please...
