Meanwhile, at Miranda's place.
Carter Hawke and Crystal were engaged in a silent standoff, eyes locked on one another.
Crystal sized up Carter with a skeptical gaze. "You’re telling me you’re Miranda’s brother?"
Carter flashed a wide grin, showing off his pearly whites. "Don’t I look the part?"
Crystal frowned. "Her family’s all behind bars. Where did you spring from?"
Carter’s charming facade faltered for a moment. He had spent quite a while sweet-talking the butler into believing he was Miranda’s brother just to get in the door. Honestly, before Crystal showed up, the butler and a few of the maids gave off a creepy haunted mansion vibe. It almost sent him running for the hills. He hadn’t realized his sister had such an eclectic household with a staff that seemed straight out of a horror flick.
As he anxiously waited for his sister to return, Crystal made her entrance. She was even scarier! With her deadpan expression—if she weren't so striking, she might as well have been a ghost. Her face was as expressionless as a stone.
He wondered how he didn’t know his sister was living with someone like this. Could Miranda be?
"I'm her distant cousin," Carter finally introduced himself, trying to maintain some composure. "Unlike the others, I'm not going to jail."
Crystal raised an eyebrow. "Never heard of you."
Carter’s face dropped again.
"But if you want to wait, be my guest," Crystal said. "She just called. She’s not coming back for a few days."
Carter was taken aback. "What? Where did she go?"
Crystal picked up her phone, opened a chat with Ms. Lancaster, and tapped on a photo. "Here."
Carter squinted. "Where’s that?"
Crystal replied, "Some guy’s place."
Carter’s expression shifted from shock to confusion to anger. "What guy? Who could keep my sister out all night?"
Crystal deadpanned, "Someone named Sebastian, I think."
Crystal turned back, her expression unamused.
Carter felt a flicker of fear under her gaze. "Uh, could you keep me company? While I wait for my sister?"
Crystal raised an eyebrow. "Didn’t you hear me?"
Carter blinked, "Huh?"
Crystal said coolly, "She’s not coming back."
Carter persisted, "Then, maybe we could talk? You could tell me about yourself, how you know my sister?"
"And is it true about Sebastian and her?" He was really concerned about that.
Crystal had never met someone who talked so much. But his energy was infectious, sparking her curiosity. How could someone be so chatty?
Surprisingly, she found herself sitting back down. Seeing her return, Carter’s eyes brightened a little, and even Crystal’s stoic face seemed a bit more bearable to him.

The readers' comments on the novel: Kiss My Revenge The Heiress Strikes Back
In what world was it ever okay for people to like people who hit and punch them? Miranda deserves someone who doesn't hit people, she needs someone who commands respect through kindness, who could show her a world where people respond more to kindness. All this shows is that it's all about money. There was no character development for Elian. He is the typical boring man, tough but soft for the heroine. Seb is the typical mysterious, quiet and strong. Can you introduce another character who would really pique Miranda's interest from the start please. All the stories I've ever read are about strong people getting together, kings, alphas, queens, powered individuals. What about someone ordinary but not too ordinary, someone middle class but hard-working, someone relatable? Okay ,rant over, bye...
I liked it before but her choosi g Elian made it boring pretty fast. He is too childish in front of her. It's your story though. I was hoping she'd neither choose Elian nor Sebastian but someone else. They are now too overpowered, it was getting redundant to read that they're the best at everything. Too much of a power couple is too much. Bye!...
Will there be an update soon please...
