He didn’t want Alicia to feel upset.
But there was always someone out there stirring up trouble. While Tyrone was in the kitchen, someone sent Alicia the photo of her and Vincent.
“I’ve already told Tyrone about you and Vincent going out. Just wait—he’s bound to take it out on you.”
Nicole first added Alicia on social media, then sent her the photo along with that message.
Alicia started to panic a little. Judging by the angle of the photo, there was no way she could easily explain what she and Vincent were doing.
Had Nicole really sent it to Tyrone already? Had he seen it yet? Why… wasn’t he angry? Why hadn’t he confronted her?
If he hadn’t seen it… maybe she still had time to explain.
But if he had… did that mean he just didn’t care?
Growing up with a deep sense of insecurity, Alicia had always doubted herself, forever worrying about what others thought.
Anxiously, she got to her feet and walked to the doorway of the kitchen.
Tyrone was busy inside, moving around with such effortless grace that even cooking, he looked like something out of a magazine.
Alicia clenched her fingers, her palms starting to sweat.
“What’s wrong? Why are you just standing there? Come and sit down.” Tyrone noticed her hovering in the doorway and smiled.
She always wore her heart on her sleeve.
“I went to a class reunion today, but it was a setup. It wasn’t even at the place they told me. Vincent’s mom and Mina’s mom were there—they tried to give me money, asking me to forgive Mira and Henry.” Alicia finally blurted out the truth, summoning her courage.
Tyrone brought a steaming dish to the table and looked at her. “So you’re finally telling me?”
Alicia’s nose stung. So he did know after all.
If he wasn’t angry, did that mean he didn’t care?
“Vincent’s mom thought I still had feelings for him, so she called Vincent over to ask me herself. But Vincent didn’t pressure me,” Alicia said softly.
“Do you still have feelings for him?” Tyrone’s gaze was steady.
Alicia shook her head. “No… I don’t.”
…
Yvonne’s apartment.
As soon as Yvonne got home, she started calling every big name in the design industry she knew, building connections for Alicia.
She couldn’t reveal Alicia’s identity just yet, but she could do everything in her power to help her.
“Any news?” Sean Quinn was sprawled on the sofa. As Yvonne passed by, he pulled her onto his lap, placing a hand gently on her belly.
“What, you think you’re Cupid now? One shot, one miracle?” Yvonne shot him an exasperated look. “Grow up, Sean. You’re not a teenager anymore—don’t be so childish.”
Sean pulled a wounded face. “So now I’m too old for you? A few years back you complained I was too young—‘not mature, not stable enough.’”
Yvonne rolled her eyes, refusing to take the bait.
“Anyway, I’ve got some real news,” Sean said, suddenly serious. “That psycho Chester caught—the one who tried to poison an orphan at the hospital—that orphan is Alicia. And by sheer coincidence, we may have found the person who killed your sister and her husband all those years ago.”
Yvonne shot upright, grabbing Sean by the collar. “Something this huge, and you only tell me now?”
