CHAPTER 15 DEAL OR NO DEAL?-02 marks a crucial moment in Natalie Roche’s Internet novel, The Austin Arrangement. This chapter blends tension, emotion, and plot progression to deliver a memorable reading experience — one that keeps readers eagerly turning the page.

I was sitting in my office finishing up before I leave for the weekend.

I was dreading this stupid dinner with Vanessa and that Auburn haired friend of hers. Having to spend two or three hours at a dinner with two woman I didn't particularly like was hell in my eyes.

Grin and fucking bare it. Drink,Drink and more fucking Drink.

"You don't look happy."Ollie walked into my office, his suit jacket was draped over his arm like he was all ready to leave for the weekend.

It's Friday, Most likely he's hitting the bars after he leaves this place.

I know how the man works,we've been friends for years. It was the usual Friday routine.

"Well I'd rather be anywhere but here right now,I'm still fucking hung over from last night."

I leaned back in my chair, rubbing my forehead."I've a headache that won't fucking quit.

"You need a cure..I mean it is Friday after all,The end of a long workweek. I'm meeting the Men at Finchley bar in twenty,Come with me."

I sighed."I can't,I have this dinner thing with Vanessa and a friend of hers in an hour. It's not something that I can get out of unfortunately."I wanted to,but I need to hold up my end to get what I want.

It's been weeks and I've been dying for a good Fuck.

"Pack up and come for an hour then,I promise we won't keep that Gorgeous wife of yours waiting."

He's not going to take No for an answer, because No to a drink wasn't something I've ever said.

"Alright,Just the one then."I grabbed my suit jacket and moved it up my arms and over my shoulders.

"So you're a married man now,a title I never thought I'd imagine you with.

How is married life treating you?"

I chuckled."It's like I imagined it would be,a lot of work.

Being a married man is not something I had imagined for myself either, but a man's gotta settle down at some point."

"Well I'm happy for you. I am sorry that I missed that wedding of yours though,I heard it was quite a day.

I saw the online photos of you and Vanessa."

A day from hell!!"It's one that I'll never forget that's for sure."

At the time of the wedding,Ollie was away on business. The wedding was planned in such a rush that he didn't make it back in time.

It wasn't a big deal,it's not as if my wedding to Vanessa was real.

In our group of rich men that liked to drink and have a good time,Ollie was the most decent out of all of us. Yes, he likes to Fuck women just like the rest of us,but he's an honest and truly decent man and I admired him for it.

He's been with me through thick and thin, all the bad parts of life.

True enough there's been plenty of those.

PUTTING ON A SHOW.

I was drumming my fingers lightly on the table, growing impatient the more time went on.

Natasha was sitting across from me checking her watch every 5 minutes and clearly not impressed by my Husbands tardiness.

That Prick is standing me up and I was absolutely livid about it.

"Oh,Okay."I looked at Jeremy and faked a smile for the sake of the people around us."I guess you're forgiven then."

Jeremy stood with his hands in the pockets of his trousers, not even bothered to muster a smile in return. "Vanessa,This is Ollie,He's a good friend of mine. He's going to join us for dinner tonight."

"It's lovely to finally meet you."Ollie extended his hand out and shook mine."You're just as beautiful as the pictures,my friend here is a very lucky man."

I chuckled lightly."You're too kind,but thank you."

I looked at over at Natasha before setting my eyes on Jeremy."Jeremy, you remember my friend Natasha,Right?"My heart was pounding in my chest as I waited for him to say something. I was praying that he didn't bring his Dick head attitude to dinner.

"From the wedding,Nice to see you again."

"And from the bar when you punched that Guy for hitting on your wife, you were pretty pissed that night."

She smirked."Nice to see you too."

I was worried about him being rude but I never thought about her. I guess she has every right to be since we've been sitting here the last hour waiting on him.

I sat down at the table and everyone else did too,Jeremy was seated beside me but there was total distance between us.

It's just an hour or two, relax and get through it,Vanessa."Alright,Let's order then."

***

Forty five minutes through dinner and Natasha was still grilling Jeremy like her life depended on it.

She wasn't being nasty or mean, but curious as to what kind of man I'm married to. After what happened at the bar that night, her opinions of him quickly changed. But tonight I hope to change them back.

"Do you see Kids in your Future,Jeremy?"Natasha asked, and then stared him down to gauge his reaction to the question.
