"That punch wasn't really an expensive price to pay for getting that confidential confession out of you." He said smirking, not at all affected by the punch.
What?
My eyes widened as soon as realization hit me.
Son of a bitch!
He accused me of being gay, he wanted to get me angry just to hear those exact words!
He already knew that I had feelings for Emily, and he made me realize that I didn't like Emily.
I was deeply in love with her.
I lifted my eyes from the floor and stared back at Lucas. "You're pathetic, you know that."
"And you're so transparent, you know that."
We sounded like girls, but who cares. Girls can be better than guys. And screw that, I just discovered something disturbing yet I liked what I discovered.
And I decided to make her mine. That was the solution all along. I was too blind to notice it. I could change my old ways.
"You're welcome." Lucas said, with a huge smile on his face. Why did he make me confess? Didn't he like her himself?
"Lucas what's your ulterior motive? You like her yourself yet you-"
"Hold it right there!" He said laughing. "You thought I liked her! No way bro. I did like her, but not like like her. Sure I might have led her on and flirted with her on a few occasions and successfully made you jealous but that's it. Besides she's too shy, I like vicious. I like older woman, I thought you knew that. Truth be told, I've been shipping you guys since the day I first met her. What did she say again, oh right, something about me being hot-"
"What the fuck, she called you hot, she has never called me anything near good even." I exclaimed. I was really angry now. I was too late. Lucas may not like her but...
Maybe she likes Lucas now.
And maybe this plane should just crash.
I take my words back, life shouldn't be taken for granted.
"Relax Adrian, let me finish for once." He said a little too happily, probably at my misery. Then be went back to imitating Emily, in a high pitched tone he resumed where he left "She said, 'you're hot, but not as hot as green eyes.' I immediately knew she was referring to you when she said that. You're not the only one who's transparent. Ooh is that a similarity I detect?" He asked, wiggling his eyebrows causing me to laugh, he joined in the laughter as well. I might not act it, but I love this motherfucker.
I smiled at the thought of growing old with her.
"Woah man, you look like a gold-digger whose rich ass husband just died." Lucas announced while taking his seat, causing me to facepalm.
Leave it to Lucas to ruin your mood when you're having a moment.
"Oh by the way, I just asked the pilot to fly us back to New York."
Here I was, over at a cousin's place with my bıtch of a sister.
She invited us over for a sleep over as soon as she heard about the one week holiday I received.
Holiday you ask? I was worried sick about facing Adrian, then just like that he vanished from the building and a while later I get a call from Lucas informing me about holidays for a whole week!
Apparently Lucas and Adrian are headed towards California on vacations themselves. That sure saves me the trouble of facing him.
At the moment I felt totally out of place, I didn't even belong here! My cousin Samantha and sister Lilly were talking about guys and dating and their first experiences with God knows what. Unfortunately Lilly was sleeping over as well since she had her summer vacations.
