Susanna stood frozen, tears streaming down her face, as she watched him enter his room and shut the door.

His attitude toward her had shifted lately, but she was too afraid to press the issue. Instead, she channeled all her fury toward Jade. That wretched woman must have fed him lies to turn him against her.

Gritting her teeth, Susanna glared venomously at Jade's door.
