In this standout chapter of the Internet novel Save My Mate, KartierKlass introduces new challenges, powerful emotions, and major plot progress that captivate readers from beginning to end.

Balthazar kissed my forehead, repeating that he loves me, to which I respond with "I love you too."

We both get out of the Wrangler and head towards the Hell Building, also known as school. Balthazar quickly walks me towards my locker and waits for me to grab the stuff I'm going to need. We come early, when no students are really in school, because of past occurrences that didn't end well. I remember a time Balthazar didn't come with me to school, because of Delta duty's, so I came on my own, which was a big mistake. Everyone was in the hallways, and I was by myself; vulnerable.

That's when the Beta saw me, along with his buddies, not including the future Alpha, but he could give less than two shits. Let's say when Balthazar saw me after that, he wasn't happy. It looked like he was going to make World War III. So Balthazar had never left me to go when everyone else came, and he would always come with me. I break out of the horrible memories when I see a piece of gum in front of my face.

Balthazar always has gum, and he always gives me a piece to calm me down. When I take hold of it, We hear the front doors opening and the shuffling of many feet, may I add the smell of werewolves. Balthazar quickly grabs my hand and takes me to my class. He kisses my forehead, a goodbye, and heads off. I walk in the classroom, and sit at the back in the corner, as usual. I think of what my day might bring me, who knows, the Moon Goddess is surprising sometimes...

I sit in my chair, anxious about what's most likely to happen. The teacher isn't even here yet, which is not a good sign cause now, I'm alone, very vulnerable, which is, I repeat, not good.

Mayday Mayday.

Minutes pass by with no teacher, a few students here and there, nowhere near me which is good cause I seriously don't need the attention. But soon enough, I was expecting my dread to come back, and well, now it's here. Standing in the doorway is the Beta, his slut, and more jocks that are werewolves as well. I quickly put on my hoodie and pull on the hood, trying to cover up as much of my face as possible. But of course, fate has put me on a different route.

"Wow, who are you trying to hide from Trixster?" Said Beta Mathew. That name. It has tormented me since the day I turned eleven.

Trixster.

Mathew pulled on my hoodie, revealing my face, which I managed to keep emotionless. Showing fear is my weakness, and I can't let them see that. When people fear, they don't get past problems, and that's everything a werewolf wants. When Beta Mathew sees no evident emotion, his eyebrows begin to furrow in anger.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there, I'm so sorry." he kept on chanting over and over. Balthazar began to carry me, which made me cry even harder even though he was trying to be extremely gentle. My wolf was whining, she didn't like the fact someone had hurt us, especially when we were meant for higher rank, except that didn't happen.

Balthazar proceeded to carry me, heading out the school doors and went towards the Wrangler, unlocking it. He opened the backseat door placing me inside, making me wince a little. Balthazar closed the door, and opened the driver's seat door and immediately turned on the engine.

He drove for a while and when he opened up my door again, he carried me out, walking towards the packed house. My eyes started to close, and I immediately started feeling drowsy, so I let the darkness consume me.

I woke up to a room with white walls, and I suddenly knew where I was. I was with the pack doctor, a place I've been in and out of various times. To my right, I can see IV's hooked up, and to my left, I can see Balthazar with his eyes closed. I started to get up, and Balthazar opened his eyes immediately.
