“You said Christian wants to talk with you when you get home?”

“Yeah. I got the impression from Enya that he’s already taken on another job, which means, they’ll be leaving.”

“Which means, you’ll be taking over as Alpha officially.”

“Yes. But I want to wait until your birthday, T. I just feel it in my soul that you’re my mate. And if so, why have a ceremony for me, only to turn around and have a ceremony for you. I’d like to take on the pack together. What do you think?”

Sebastiana looks at me the way I’ve always wanted a woman to look at me, like I’m the most amazing, wonderful man in the world and she couldn’t love me any more than she does.

“I think that’s a great idea, Shane.”

Returning home was a whirlwind. The pack was thrilled to have me back, excited and proud that I’m the new number one on the leaderboard and Sebastiana is number two. I spent the first couple of days talking with Braden and Jaden and getting to know my new niece. I was surprised when I held Ciara for the first time at the sudden need that filled me to have my own pups. When I’d looked at Tiana, I’d seen that same desire in her. We have a lot to do and a lot that needs to get settled, but once we’re established as this pack’s Alpha and Luna, I’ll be talking to my mate about when she wants to start trying for a pup.

Christian gave me time to settle back in then we sat down in my office. This time, he sat across the desk from me, leaving the chair at the desk, my desk, for me to sit in. Instead, I’d poured us some whiskey and sat beside him, just like he always did with me.

“I’ve accepted another job offer,” Christian says, sipping his whiskey.

“What job?”

He grins. “Apparently, I did so well with you, that the Council has asked me to take on another young Alpha whose parents have passed away. This job will only be for a year, but I’ve asked the Council to give me a month to get you established as the Alpha of this pack and for me to take Enya and Ciara to the coast.
