Sure enough, Morton Group’s Tavon had a daughter named Sandy, and her photos were all over the web.

In all his years in business, Scott had never been played like this. He’d even had a child with her, and still didn’t know who she really was.

His mind raced. Why had Sandy pretended to be Sandia to get close to him?

As soon as Scott stepped inside, he was hit with the inviting smell of home-cooked food. He followed it to the kitchen, where he found Sandy, apron tied around her waist, looking every bit the domestic goddess as she cooked.

Sandy had her back to him, but she knew exactly when he’d come in. She put on a little show, talking softly to her baby bump as she stirred the soup.

“Baby, you’ve got to be good for mommy, okay? I’m making soup for your daddy tonight. He’s so gentle and handsome—he’ll be a wonderful dad. Want to hear a secret? Mommy loves your daddy very much.”

Every word was meant for Scott.

Sandy, always a step ahead, had already seen Juliana’s viral post online. She knew her cover was about to be blown, and she knew Scott would come storming back for answers.

She’d planned it all—timed everything so he’d hear these sweet words as soon as he walked in.

Listening to her, watching her move softly around the kitchen, Scott felt his anger dissolving, replaced by something much gentler.
