Scott went along with Sandy’s plan and suggested they go see Tavon together.

It was kind of like meeting his future father-in-law.

Sandy agreed, which was a good sign—she needed Scott to make some promises in front of Tavon, to show she had a solid place in his life.

The two headed to the office together. Meanwhile, Herman was still waiting for Scott to get back to him.

Herman never expected Scott to be such a softie, caught up in romance with Sandy. He waited and waited, but Scott never replied.

In the end, it was Carter who let him know that Scott had brought Sandy along and even met up with Tavon. Carter had gone to the office to find Scott for something, and just happened to run into them.

Herman could only shake his head. But honestly, it’s not like anyone’s being forced here—Scott and Sandy are both willing participants.

Sandy was already pregnant, so of course Scott had to step up. In the Stranz family, nothing mattered more than a child.

Other people might not see through Sandy, but Herman and Anastasia sure could. They’d both dealt with her before and knew exactly what she was capable of.

Sandy played her cards carefully: she took her time getting close to Scott, waited until she was pregnant, and only then revealed her ace. She never outright asked Scott to divorce, but every little thing she did nudged him closer to it.

That night, Herman and Anastasia lay awake, both troubled by all of it.

They looked at each other, both wanting to say something but not knowing where to start.

Herman finally spoke up. “Let it go, honey. We’re all adults here. Scott made his choice—he’ll have to deal with whatever comes of it.”

“Sandy really is something—she’s got Scott completely wrapped around her finger,” Anastasia sighed. “It’s true, isn’t it? Honest love never keeps someone, but a clever plan always wins hearts. Oh, and you said Carter told you my dad’s in Riverdale? You go to bed—I’ll give him a call. I can’t just pretend I don’t know he’s here.”

Tavon hadn’t told Anastasia he was in town—he didn’t want to bother her.
