Tavon just shrugged it off. “The Lister family, the Salstrom family—it’s a perfect match, really.”

Salma shot him a look. “The kids are still young. Don’t go putting ideas in their heads.”

Tavon just laughed. “Kids these days aren’t like we were. They’re smart, and they grow up fast. Some of them even have little boyfriends or girlfriends in kindergarten! Haven’t you seen those stories online? Little ones taking their parents’ jewelry to school to give as gifts.”

Andrew really did come by to see Paradise all the time. He was always bringing something—flowers, jewelry, you name it. He’d even whisk Paradise off to the movies every now and then.

Don’t be fooled by how young they are. The way these kids handle things, half the adults wouldn’t stand a chance.

Ever since Tavon moved to Southridge Estates, he’d been in a much better mood.

Right after he left the hotel, Sean headed out too.

Sean went straight to see Sandy. He already knew where she lived, so he just hopped in a cab.

He wasn’t there to talk Sandy out of anything. He always backed her up. If Sandy said Scott could be trusted, then that was good enough for him.

Sean sat on Sandy’s couch, glancing around the room. Scott had given Sandy the best of everything. Even the tiniest trinket in the place looked pricey.

Mrs. Goad wasn’t there that day. If she kept hanging around and the paparazzi snapped a shot, it’d be all the proof anyone needed, and Scott would end up in the headlines too.

All Mrs. Goad could do was call Sandy to check in.

“Sandy, are you really happy here?” Sean asked, his voice soft with concern.

Sandy took a sip of juice, totally unbothered. “Why wouldn’t I be? You think I care what other people say about me? Only people with nothing better to do worry about that kind of stuff. I know exactly what I want. Everyone else is just jealous.”

Sean didn’t know what to say.

She was so tough—she didn’t need comforting from anyone.

“What if Scott can’t get the divorce?” Sean pressed. “From the looks of things, it’s not happening anytime soon. Sooner or later, you’re going to start showing, and if the baby comes before he’s divorced…”

Sandy smirked, confidence all over her face. “You really think I’m that easy to fool? Give it a month, tops. Scott and Juliana will be done. I guarantee it.”
