"Aaron?" Jaimie gasped confused.
He opened the box, "Marry me?" he asked.
"Yes!" Jaimie exclaimed as she threw herself into Aaron knocking them back on to the ground. "I love you so much."
"I want to get married in like a month, do you think we can do it?"
"Totally, oh my gosh, I have to call Sam, see if she'll be my maid of honor!" Jaimie pulled Aaron's phone out of his pocket as he slid the beautiful silver engagement ring on her left hand. She scrolled to Sam's number and began to call her.
Sam answered on the last ring before it would have went to voice mail. "Hello?" she sounded so melencoly.
"Sammy, you'll never guess what just happened, Aaron proposed, I said yes, I'll need you to be my maid of honor."
"When?"
"In a month, please tell me you will?"
"Of course Jaimie." She still didn't sound too happy.
"You okay Sammy?"
"Yeah I'm fine, I can be there maybe by the weekend before the wedding."
"Great thank you Sam, we love you."
"I love you guys too." They ended the call.
Jaimie looked at Aaron, "Sam sounds so upset."
"Probably her and Blake issues again, she loves him, he loves her but they keep messing it up a little, they'll come around and fix it I'm sure."
"Who are you having as your best man? Oh where are we going to have it?"
"More than likely Blake I owe him quite a and I was thinking right here."
They continued planning together the excitement bubbling between the two of them.
Sam let out a sigh as she walked out of the hospital her eyes darting around the dark parking lot. She couldn't believe what the doctor told her. The tears threatened to spill over again as she rushed to her truck. She hit the unlock button and climbed up in. she locked it back as she stuck the key in the ignition.
She was strong, she could do this. She had to. A pounding began in her head. She just wanted her life to go back to the way it was before. That would never happen. Could be worse.
She headed home, all she wanted was a warm bath and to go to bed.
Blake barely slept the night before. He turned his phone back on as he leaned up on his elbow in his old, lumpy bed. He sighed as he saw the six missed calls from Sam. Maybe he should call her back, what if something was wrong? Then again she hadn't left a voice mail.
He threw his phone down beside him as he decided he'd wait to see if she called him again then he would talk to her. He got out of bed slowly and headed to his shower.
He got washed up, dried, and dressed in his typical wrangler work jeans and buttoned up plaid shirt, blue today. He checked his phone once more before he slipped it into his back pocket. Nothing. He would have to suck it up and call her back when he got done for the night.
He headed downstairs almost getting knocked over by Aaron, "Whoa Boss, where's the fire?"
