Then I saw it. The drenched black wolf coming out from the water with an unconscious Chance slipping off of his back. Austin reached, paddling with his paws as he tried to grab the ground for help. I ran over to him, bending down and reaching my hand out as he shifted back into his human form, grabbing Chance as he slung him into my arms. I pulled Chance to the snow, dragging him out of the water as Austin shifted again, using his claws to dig into the ground and pull his wolf up.
I looked down at Chance, my hands trembling as I laid his head down gently, only to find some blood on my hands. His face had grown pale as the water on him rushed away. Austin pushed passed me in hurry as his eyes stared at Chance in shock. He ran his hand over his head, panicking as he quickly gave him CPR. I watched in fear, the blood slowly going to the snow as Chance made no movement to come back. Austin gave him more air, pushing at his chest, again, then another time, then another, then more.
"Austin I'm sorr-"
"Shut up!" He snapped beating at Chances chest. "Get up! Get up! Get up!!" Austin clenched his fist, as he gritted his teeth putting his head down as I could hear his sobs. "You're stronger than this..." he cried to Chance who laid their lifelessly.
I rubbed my burning eyes, as I turned away only wishing I hadn't when I was knocked off my feet and onto my back.
"Don't you get it?" Levi smirked walking over to Austin who was crying over Chance. "This all... never would have happened, if Milo didn't do what he did." He whispered trying to get into Austin's head. It was true but Levi manipulated Milo, he was all the more to blame. "You saw him first, you devoted your wolf days to train him, to spend time with him, and now look. That plan of getting Chance to fall for you, worked, but the plan to remove Milo failed. There's only one way... to remove a wolf..."
"Shut up Levi." Forrest growled as he forced me to my feet. He glanced at Austin clearly upset. "Austin, what are you doing? Kill him." Forrest demanded as he growled at Levi who jumped back shifting, who walked in a half circle around us. "Austin he's-"
"He's right." Austin stated as he kissed Chance's forehead, brushing his cheek before standing, "None of this wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for Milo."
"He's also to blame!!" I yelled as Austin glanced at me, looking me in the eyes. There was a brief moment, as his eyes shifted from wolf then back to human before he snatched his attention away to Levi.
"Austin-" Forrest began as I tugged his arm.

Milo slid down the side, jumping over a few rocks as he winched at his gashes but kept moving. The stream had calmed after the fall as everyone walked the path to find the two Alphas. Milo checked the stones, the water, and where they were suppose to wash up at, but no luck.
"...we cannot continue the fight without the Alpha..." someone mumbled as I looked across the stream where the xylorus stood searching for Levi.
"Guys," Milo breath as he pulled Austin out of the water where he was resting his head on the ground breathing and his body in the water before Milo dragged him out. I ran over to Austin who opened his eyes, breathing horribly with deep cuts everywhere around him, bite marks cover him from head to toe.
