"I'll tell you what's wrong with her." That very familiar voice said out of nowhere, walking away from the shadow of a tree and stepping right into a clear and definite view.
"C-charles?" Fred said. Confusion immediately overtook his features before channelling to fury. "Why the fuck are you here?" He didn't mean to sound so rude and yell, but he just felt the need to do it, with a frown.
"Calm down." Charles smirked then stared down at Jayda who was in Fred's arms. She managed to stand straight again but she was fidgeting. "Don't you remember I said we have an Unsettled Business'?" He said to Jayda.
"Why are you here? You didn't get enough beating from the last time, right?" Jayda said, shooting daggers at him.
"I guess he didn't," Fred huffed, balling his fists.
The young child stood quietly, not saying a word but was gently humming a song.
"Will you just let me talk?" Charles' face twisted to a frown. He was disgusted by them already, not exactly Jayda. "Jayda love,"
"Get out of here, loser!" Jayda screamed so energetically that it made Fred lift an eyebrow at her.
"It's okay," he patted her back.
"This little-" Charles started but Jayda cut him off by landing a heavy slap on his cheek.
Charles held his cheek and his furiousness level increased beyond the maximum level. "Are you mad?!" He yelled.
"Get out of our lives!" She screamed, startling the young child and she seemed like she was going to cry anytime soon. The tension was terrifying her.
"Leave here, now. Go meet Daisy and tell her to take you." Charles said to the terrified young child who obediently nodded and scurried away.
"Wait, who's that child? And why is Jayda's reaction towards her very weird?" Fred inquired.
"She's our child." Charles stated abruptly.
"What?!" Fred screamed, holding Charles' shoulders and squeezing them aggressively.
"No, Fred. Don't believe him. I don't even know who she is. I've never met the child before when we saw her, together." Jayda was panting heavily, panting like she was about to pass out anytime soon. The way she was sweating delivered the message to Fred that things were right at the moment.
"Are you really out of your mind? You're denying your own daughter." Charles shook his head, looking disgusted.
"Fred, I'll explain things to you." Jayda breathed out, "Ally is not my daughter,"
"Really?" Fred's frown grew more. "How then do you know her name if you've never met her?" His blood pressure was beginning to rise as he was indignant.
"W...that's... I–I–I... wait..." Jayda stuttered, moving her hands in different directions.
"Let's go. We're returning tomorrow morning." Fred announced, holding Jayda's hand and started to storm with her, irately.
"Fred," she cried, sobbing at short intervals.
"Jayda, it would be best for both of us if you kept quiet because I'm trying my best to stay calm and process everything that's going on." He said in a hoarse voice. His reaction was so stern that it made a wave of fear flush in Jayda's body. She had never seen or heard him this angry.
Fred walked back towards the direction of the garden since his car wasn't quite far from there. He was walking really fast and Jayda was almost running to catch up with him.
Fred was by his car and he was furiously opening the door to the passenger seat, ready to shove Jayda right in.
Jayda immediately yanked her hand from his grip then she wore her own frown at him. "What exactly is your problem?" She spat. "Okay, I agree that Ally is my daughter, so what?"
"Excuse me. What?" He said with a raspy tone but it didn't make any tingling feeling of fear flow in Jayda's body.
Jayda walked to him again then stood in front of him to inspect his body for any form of injuries. She noticed a little cut on the scar on his tricep muscle but it was totally ignorable and she did just that; ignored it.
"I didn't tell you about Ally because I thought she was going to serve as a disturbance to our marriage. Charles and I accidentally had her then Charles was very happy because he has or had a low-sperm count. The doctor had confirmed that the chance of him having a child after Ally was very low so he begged me to let him have Ally."
"After we broke up, he said I could leave without Ally, he made Ally hate me then he also said he promised that he wasn't going to let Ally ruin any of my future relationship(s). I didn't deny her, there's a reason for that but-" she stopped talking and exhaled.
"Let it be." Fred shook his head. "You only tell me things when you're caught red-handed. Else, I'd never get to know. I can't believe my wife doesn't trust me," he hissed then rose to his feet.
As he was about to leave for the kitchen to grab something to eat, his phone rang from his shorts pocket so he groaned, extremely frustrated as he answered the call from Cora.
"Hello," he shouted into the phone.
"Calm down, bro." Cora said, slightly startled at the loudness his voice possessed.
"Sorry," He sheepishly apologized then started walking towards their bedroom.
"What's wrong? Fight with Jayda?" Cora asked in skepticism.
"What do you have to say?" He ignored her question. He wasn't ready to speak about it, not even to speak to anyone but he couldn't ignore his little sister.
"Mom is back." Cora blurted out.
"What?!" He exclaimed, more than perplexed.
"Yeah, she has been missing for years but she's back now." Cora said.
Was that supposed to be good news or not?
