"Yes. I've loved you since like forever- It's like an obsession I can't get over with." He confessed. "I've always loved you, even after you were married. I can't be with any other woman because you're all I can think of." His eyes read extreme sincerity and desperation that it made a feeling of fear tingle in Jayda.
"This is a prank, right?" She was praying for it to be one.
"No, it's not a prank." He stepped closer to her, and closer, till he was a few distance away from her. "I love you more than anyone in this world."
"How can you say that? We're just FRIENDS!" She said. "Dave, this isn't right. Also, you're younger than I am by two years. This will only lead to complications in our friendship."
"Friends? So?" He frowned. "You're older but that's not a big deal. It isn't a problem."
"I know it isn't but I can't love you back. We're just friends, nothing else. You're young, handsome, loving and everything that a woman wants in a man but there's no way we can ever be together. I'm sorry."
"There is a way, Jayda." He said pleadingly. "Please,"
"You're fully aware of the fact that I can die anytime soon, right?" She rumpled her forehead in a questioning manner.
"That doesn't matter. I want us to be together and spend the rest of our days together. Also, you won't die, I promise." That one made Jayda burst into laughter.
"Who are we all kidding? You're aware of the fact that I can die right now, or tomorrow, or any day from now?" She said it in a joking manner.
"Jayda, I don't care. I love you so much. You really need to know that I'd die without you. I've been patient enough in expressing my feelings completely. I've tried to express it in different ways and I thought you noticed because you always give me a positive response. I can't love any woman more than you." The possessiveness in his tone was starting to creep her out. "I even decorated this place for you. Please marry me." His eyes glistened with hope.
The whole room was decorated romantically with roses on the floors and a heart-shaped barrier for red and white balloons. There were three broad sofas with roses on them. A table with three chairs and the words, "I LOVE YOU" boldly designed on the table and a white cake on the table had "MARRY ME" on it.
"You're insane, I think." She chuckled, feeling slightly scared. She stared back at him and noticed the closeness between them.
Dave grasped her wrists, locking them on the table. "I'm not kidding. There's no way you'll reject me." He shook his head then leant towards her, pressing his lips against her forcefully and roughly.
Jayda tried to move her head in different directions but he kept kissing her neck and cheeks as she did so.
Jayda kicked him in the face, taking off one of her slip-on to slap his face really hard. She jumped from the couch then hit him on the face, with her knee. She threw her slip-on right at his face before she ran out of there.
Her heart was racing as she ran. Her body was too weak to run this much but there was the help of this thing called the... Adrenaline Hormone? Yeah, guess so.
When Jayda had confirmed that she had run quite a distance, she stopped to pant heavily. She had taken a taxi there so her car wasn't with her and her house was still quite far from where she was.
The weakness and effect of her strenuous activity started to show off. She felt really weak. Everywhere seemed like it was moving in circles and swallowing up.
Nevertheless, she continued walking. She had to get back home before she fainted on the road.
Jayda didn't realize what was happening around her and didn't know that she was not on the Pedestrians way anymore but on the road. A car was being driven towards her but her state didn't give her a chance to care about that.
Luckily for her, the driver of the car hit the brakes before she could be hit, then she lost all control and passed out.
