Jayda ran into the bathroom and she held the toilet seat as she started to puke her guts out. Blood as well as other irritable things kept gagging out of her throat. It was making her feel very dizzy and weird.
"Jayda? Brea needs you." Freya called. She came out of the room then searched for Jayda in the kitchen where she previously was but she wasn't in there.
She immediately became alert when she heard Jayda throwing up in the bathroom. She dropped her 2-year-old daughter, Brea, on the floor then ran to the bathroom.
"Jayda," she furrowed her eyebrows then rushed to her, holding her up. "Are you okay?"
Jayda raised her head weakly to stare at her. She looked like a total mess with her disheveled hair and awkwardly pale skin.
Freya poured water on Jayda's face then wiped her neck and the vomit on her hair away. "Sorry, let's go." She kept Jayda's arm around her shoulders and held her waist to lead her to the living room, making her sit on a couch.
"What's wrong with Aunty Jade?" Brea asked, looking like she was going to cry already.
"Nothing's wrong with her." She smiled at her daughter. She crouched to Brea, held her cheeks then kissed her. "Go to your room now. Don't come out till I tell you to. Okay, my love?" She smiled.
Brea nodded positively. "Okay, Mum." She stood then hopped to her room.
When Freya confirmed that Brea was out of hearing range, she turned to Jayda. "This is so sad. You puke blood and other stuff out everyday. What do we do?" Her eyes were glassy as she said.
"Nothing. There's nothing we can do." Jayda said, smiling weakly.
"You survived this for two years, there's definitely something you can do." Freya hated it when Jayda was being so negative, as always.
"I said there's nothing." She fanned a hand over her face.
Freya went to pour a glass cup of water for her, then she brought it to her.
"Thank you." She appreciated it as she took it from her and gulped out of the water in the cup.
Freya took the cup and dropped it on the wooden center table. "I was wondering... why didn't you go back to Fred?" Freya finally spoke out what she had been pondering on for a while.
Jayda laughed sarcastically. "Fred? What's the point? I'm definitely going to die anytime soon. Also, if he wanted me badly like he had claimed to, he would've searched for me and tried to win me back. Guess who didn't do that?" She asked a rhetorical question. "Not Fred." She laughed again.
"You told him not to look for you." Freya took a seat beside her.
"Yeah... whether I did, it doesn't change the fact that he didn't look for me. Also, he might probably have found someone else- I mean, there's no way he would've waited for me for two years." She scoffed.
Nevertheless, she continued walking in. She was slightly scared but was also curious. She took her phone out of her clutch then the brightness of the screen made it seem like it could make her blind, compared to the surrounding darkness.
Suddenly, she felt an arm curl around her waist. The action made her flinch and drop her phone to the floor.
She was alert and wanted to start hitting whoever it was but she stopped when she sensed the smell of the person's cologne. It was Fred's cologne; the one that belonged to him exclusively, no one else had that cologne.
She felt her heart do a backflip at the thought of Fred being behind her. She held the muscular arm around her then shut her eyes as he showered kisses on her neck and cheek.
Soon enough, the dim lights were turned on. Jayda could sense that something didn't feel right. Why was Fred here?
She jerked away from him then turned around. Her jaw dropped and her eyes popped out of their sockets when the person behind her was Dave.
She frowned at first but it suppressed to a look of calmness and perplexion. "D–Dave?" She called.
"Jayda. I know this might seem new to you and unexpected but I'll let you know the truth." He sighed, increasing the level of her perplexion. "I love you, Jayda."
"Excuse me, what?!" She spat.
