"Good morning, sunshine." Fred's voice was the first thing Jayda heard when she opened her eyes.

She scanned Fred crankily. He was grinning like crazy.

"Here's your breakfast. I knew you were going to wake up so I made you something to eat." He said with a wide grin.

Jayda sat up straight in bed then stretched her arms above her head with her mouth widely opened for a loud yawn.

"Thank you." She said, even though she didn't genuinely appreciate it. She got to her feet then he did the same.

"Where are you going?" He inquired when she slid her feet into a pair of furry slippers that were by the edge of their bed.

She looked at him like he had asked the world's most stupid question.

"I need to use the bathroom." She said.

"You'll be back soon, will you?" He said with puppy eyes and a pout.

"I guess so." She shrugged expressionlessly.

"You're so frigid and it's damn annoying." He rolled his eyes along with a huff.

Jayda didn't care about his complaint but just made her way to the bathroom after grabbing two towels.

She truly thought she was being too cold to Fred but it was definitely not her fault but her nature.

Fred, on the other hand, was so determined to make his marriage work out because he wasn't getting younger and he had started loving Jayda.

He knew their marriage was rushed and they didn't get to experience the pre-marriage relationship properly so he totally understood that she was trying to take things step by step.

After about thirty minutes, she came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body and another around her head, packing her hair.

She sat on the vanity chair then dried her hair, applied her body and hair lotion before braiding her hair.

Fred just couldn't take his eyes off her hot body. She was so curvy and her body was mouth-watering.

She went to the wardrobe then took out a pink dress and her underwear.

The moment she dropped the towel from around her body, to the floor, Fred's face instantly went pale.

For the first time since their one-night stand, he could see and adore her beautiful body again. She chuckled at his reaction. It made her feel more beautiful.

She slowly wore her underwear then her dress. Only then did Fred's sense get back to normal.

"What? You liked what you saw, uhn?" She got on the bed and sat on his lap then placed her arms around him, resting her head on his chest which made him fall with his back and legs on the bed.

"You're so unpredictable. First, you act so grumpy, cold, rude, boring and bring down my hope but in the next moment, you act all romantic. What are you?" He said.

"I'm Jayda Maklaw, the crazy woman you're married to." She giggled then tightened her hug, placing her legs on his so she was completely on top of him.

"Jayda, love," He started with a very sweet tone.

She groaned because she knew that he wanted to ask her something she wasn't going to like.

"At least, hear me out first, will you?"

"What?" She spat.

Jayda alighted the public bus she had boarded. The bus stop she arrived at was only two streets away from where Samantha lived.

She whistled as she ambulated to her mother's house.

She had her spare key with her so she unlocked the door without bothering to ring the doorbell.

"Mom?" She called then used the switch to turn on the light since it was dark because of the night.

She found her mother seated on the floor and looking so gloomy. "Mom!" She shouted then ran to her. "What's wrong?" Worry immediately filled her entirely.

Samantha's eyes widened and tears were shimmering in her eyes.

"J-Jayda," she called weakly, shaking her head negatively.

"What?" Jayda was so confused.

"Please escape." She whispered.

"What do you mean?" She looked at her mother's eyes intensely.

Jayda knew that Samantha was trying to pass a message to her so she followed her mother's eyes which directed her to look behind herself.

As Jayda's neck turned to take in the view of what seemed to be behind her, her chest was throbbing harshly against her chest. She hoped it wasn't what she thought was happening that was happening.

Not giving her the opportunity to take a look completely, she received a hard blow on the back of her head.
