I really regretted it. Why did I ever get involved with this family?

Three years ago, they moved next door.

An elderly couple with graying hair. They also had a mentally challenged son who weighed over 440 pounds.

My wife and I thought they were quite pitiful. So we often sent things over to their house.

Whenever they had difficulties, my wife and I helped out as much as we could.

Ashley's current cleaning job was one I found for her at my company.

They seemed honest enough. They wouldn't eat anything good themselves but would save it for their son.

Once, their relatives from back home sent some watermelons. Knowing Jane loved them, they gave us a few.

At that point, I thought they wanted me to help them with something.

I went over to help them up. I reassured them, "Don't worry. We've known each other for years. As long as it's within my power, I'll help you."

The couple exchanged a glance and then smiled. "You can definitely do this. It's a small matter for you. Just marry Jane to Victor."
