What the hell happened?! What went wrong and upset her so much that she's leaving? I thought things were going well, and we were progress-

"Did you enjoy your visit to the neighbouring pack?" She asks me smugly and I know that she is fully aware of the time I spent with Alpha Sheila. Apparently, the distance wasn't enough of a barrier after all, but I don't want to admit anything on the off-chance this isn't what she's talking about.

Please, you're so busted. You ruined everything because you just had to stick your dick where it didn't belong! I hate you! I will never forgive you if she leaves! Phoenix threatens me angrily, but I ignore him, focusing back on the angry she-wolf in front of me.

"Got nothing to say? Afraid to say anything at all? Let me make it easier for you, you philandering pile of garbage," she spits out calmly. I'm not sure what is worst – the fact that she knows or how calm she is. Both are freaking me out in equal measures because I know by the end of this conversation, the result is going to be the same.

And it isn't going to end in my favour.

"I felt every second you were with your companion yesterday," she says angrily, finally expressing an emotion other than boredom. "Our mate bond may not be strong," she looks at me with sudden realization, "but that's what you were counting on, wasn't it?" She shakes her head with disgust when I can no longer meet her eyes. "Doesn't matter your motivations, the point is you betrayed me and our bond and now, Alpha Kace Hawthorne of the Midnight Pack, I, Penelope Andrews, reject you as my mate for a final time."
