Ivy shot him a look. "They were praising you, is that a crime?"

"Fine, fine." Jamison's heart ached for his wife, so he didn't argue. Changing the subject, he asked, "Can you walk on your own? If not, I can carry you."

"No!" Ivy quickly rejected the idea, terrified he would scoop her up in his arms without a second thought. The whole office would completely lose its mind!

"I'm not in pain, I just feel exhausted. I'll feel better once I get home and rest."

"Alright, let's go." The two walked out of the office, greeting the staff with smiles before leaving.

That night, Ivy went to bed early.

Waking up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, she shockingly discovered that her period was already over!
