"Mr. Hunter, what would you like today? Please have a look at the menu," the waiter said respectfully to me.

The room fell so silent that I could almost hear a pin drop.

Finn couldn't believe what he had just heard. One minute he was scoffing that I had probably never set foot in this place. The next second, the waiter came in and immediately recognized me, indirectly confirming my recent claim of having eaten here yesterday.

Staring at me, Finn asked the waiter, his tone tinged with disbelief, "Hey, how do you know this guy? Did he try to dodge the bill and end up working for this hotel?"

The waiter frowned slightly but explained, "Nothing like that. Mr. Hunter had a lavish meal yesterday and even gave me three thousand dollars in tips. I'm truly honored to have the opportunity to serve him."

As the waiter's words hung in the air, the group began to look at me differently. After all, three thousand dollars was no sweat, let alone to tip a waiter.

Oskar had planned to impress everyone by leaving a few hundred dollars as a tip, but now he'd have to cough up over three thousand just to outdo me. If he didn't, he risked being looked down upon.

"Just today's specials for eighteen portions," Oskar ordered, his tone impatient. He slumped into his seat, sulking.

I couldn't help but smirk, thinking that my three-thousand-dollar tip was well worth it. The waiter's demeanor and his words helped me emerge victorious in this silent battle. I felt satisfied with the waiter's "after-service."
