At Finn's words, the room erupted with excitement over the unexpected twist.

"Really?"

"Finn is definitely telling the truth! Didn't you see him call the car rental agency?"

"Let's see what happens to David now, given the stunts he's pulled."

"He's really going all out just to act wealthy for this party. Maybe he even paid off the waiter to back him up."

"Enough!" To my surprise, the first person to speak up against the mockery was Hanna.

I stood up, placed a hand on Hanna's shoulder, and spread my arms. I said to Finn slowly, "I was waiting for you to finish. Now that you've spoken up, let me say something. That's right. I rented that car."

I scanned the room before squinting my eyes at Finn's smug face. "If I had known it was yours, I would've smashed it already."

Finn scoffed. "Stop bluffing! You couldn't afford to pay for damages if you wrecked my car..."
