I wondered what they'd do to me when they found me. I knew it'd be certain death. Over the years, the unspoken laws concerning rogues got harsher. Any rogue you saw, you killed. It didn't matter if it was anyone's mate, no one knew if you killed it on the spot. That's the part that sucked. I preferred the old way where they were taken to the cells, and after three days if their mate wasn't in that pack they'd be killed. Obviously I don't prefer how they are just looked at and thrown in the dumps, but that's werewolf life. And now, I'm a rogue. I'll most likely be killed on the spot if I was spotted.

What's worse? I couldn't fight back. I had no energy to do so. I was starving, and I couldn't move on. It rained days ago and that was what was keeping me alive. But it's been bone dry. Even Ariella is weak. She's weakening by the minute, and if I shifted into her it'd only weaken her.

I walked a little further and heard voices. I started to panic and turned around, trying to run in the opposite direction. Before I could get anywhere, I felt lightheaded. I felt everything in my body go weaker than it already was. Before I knew it, I fell onto the ground. I was blacking out. Black dots started to cloud my vision but before I completely went out, I noticed the silhouette of a man.

Looks like the end for me, I thought bitterly before blacking out completely.

I woke up with water being thrown on me. I gasp from the coldness and sit upright. I look around, noticing the bed I was on and the elderly woman standing beside the bed with a bucket in her hand. "What the?" I ask, still slightly shocked.

"Alpha was getting worried, wanted me to wake you," she said with a kind voice. "How are you feeling?"

"My head hurts a little," I tell her and she immediately puts the bucket down and opens a drawer. She pulls out some painkillers and hands me the glass of water which was also on the drawer. "Thank you," I smile at her and take the painkillers.

"They should start kicking in soon. I reckon ten or so minutes. Now, you must be hungry. Doc said you had no food in you." A doctor? I looked around again, and I was in a grand bedroom. It was fancy and decorated beautifully. I've never seen anything so beautiful in my life.

"How long was I out?" I ask, still mesmerised by how big and beautiful the room was.

"Two days. Like I said, Alpha was getting worried," she says, holding out her hand. "Come on, you need food." I take her hand and she helps me off the huge bed. Woah. Who's room is this? We were walking out of the room when I realised something.

You can, he's our mate! Ariella exclaimed. I cut her off, knowing she would make me stay. I can't stay though, I have to move. I don't even know where, but I have to. I can't stay. Maybe along the way I'll get killed.

"Kaden, Kaden Clark. As you know, I'm the Alpha and you're my mate. I've waited so long for you, Nova." No, no. All lies. He's going to suck me in and then reject me. He's doing this on purpose. He wants me to feel happy and make sure I have hope that me and him will be together. But then he's going to reject me.

I shook my head and ran. I ran through the kitchen door and made it through the front door. I took a split second to look around, turning right and running through the forest. I have to leave. I carried on running until I felt arms enveloping themselves around my waist and lifting me into the air. I yelled out from the bruises that were there, and also from the shock. He didn't notice, though.

"Let me go," I mumbled, struggling to get free. Every time I struggled, it brought more pain. So I stopped. I stopped struggling and he put me down.

"I've been waiting for you for so long, I'm not letting you go," he told me before leaning down and kissing my forehead. No, no. It's still part of his plan. He's still going to reject me. I push him and run again, but before I could even get anywhere I was caught again. "Stop running, Nova." From the tone of his voice, I could tell he was getting frustrated.
