"Just reject me already," I mutter, my eyes tearing up. I heard a loud growl, making me jump back. That came from him..he..growled..at me?

"Why the hell would I do that?" He asked, his voice angry. I flinched slightly and cowered back. He frowned at my actions and held his arms out. I backed away from them, making him frown deeper. He walked forward and brought me into a hug which shocked me. "You need a clean," he mumbled again my hair. I pushed him away and glared at him. "What?"

"That was rude," I mutter, walking back to the house. The fact that he thought I smelt..he doesn't want s smelly mate. Why hasn't he rejected me get, though? I don't get it.

"Where are you going?" He calls out from behind.

"To get clean," I reply angrily. I hear him chuckle and for once in a long time, a small smile creeps to my lips. He's soon by my side and leading me back up to the room I awoke in. He sets up the shower for me, which I thank him for, and he leaves. As he left, I realised I didn't have any clothes to change into. I open the bathroom door and speak out to tell him until I realise he wasn't even in the room.

I shrug and decide I'll just wear my old clothes again. No harm in that, right? I get into the shower and relax instantly when the hot water hits my body. Hot water, finally. I was only ever allowed to have cold showers. Hot showers were for everyone else, and not for the murderers. That's what I was told. They considered me a murderer, and I agreed. I murdered my mother and sibling.

What if Kaden already knows? No.. He's luring me in. He's going to make me feel special and at home, and then he will reject me and kick me out. Or even kill me! Well, that wouldn't be too bad. It'd put me out of my already horrible life. Why did he have to be my mate? Why did he have to find me? If someone else did, maybe I'd finally be happy. Maybe I'll be with mother..

I look to the water, feeling faint again. No, not here. My eyes rolled back and I fell down in the bathtub with the water still raining down on me.

"Want lettuce with it?" I smile and nod my head. He tells me to sit down at the counter, so I do. "Mayo?" I nod again and watch him make my food. "Sorry but I can't really cook and a sandwich is basic," he tells me as he hands me my sandwich.

"It's fine. Thank you," I say before digging deep into my sandwich. Delicious. It was just a sandwich but it felt nice having my mate make me something. I don't know why, but it made it all more special? But I couldn't trust him. There was no way I could. First chance I get, I'm leaving. I couldn't risk the chance of getting rejected. If I left, hopefully the bond will eventually severe and then he and I are both free. A severe of the bond is apparently less painful than being rejected, although the severe of the bond is an indication that one ran away. Running away is a type of another rejection, but for some reason it apparently hurt less.

After I finished eating, Kaden handed me a glass of water which I downed within seconds. He stared at me, amused. "Thirsty, huh?" I scowled at him and he chuckled, grabbing my hand. The tingles in my hand erupted again. I could've gotten use to that. "So as you knew, that was the kitchen. This is the dining room," he says, leading me into a huge room. There was a very long table which fit about thirty odd guests. Is his pack small? "My pack don't all eat at the same time, plus most live in their own homes with their families." That explains things. "I sit at the head of the table, and usually my Beta sits at the other end. His mate sits beside him, meaning you'll sit beside me. It's just how things work because if you sat opposite me you'll be very far away and I can't have that." Why? Everyone seems to want to stay as far as they can from me.. He took me to another room which I guessed was the living room, and I was right. It had a huge tv with multiple game consoles. There was multiple couches too. Basically, the living room was huge.
