Paige looked at Gabe, "I was handling myself just fine you know."
"I know, I'm sorry, he just gets under my skin and gets my blood going no matter if he's messing you or not."
"Just keep him from Aurora, I don't want him near her, I'm a big girl." Paige smiled at him. "But thank you I appreciate it." She walked away to give Gabe and Faye some alone time. "I think I'll step outside." She made her way to the door, as she was met with the light breeze she closed her eyes and inhaled. Her eyes snapped open to the unmistakable scent. Axe Apollo. She glanced around quickly and seen someone dart into the alleyway across from her. Maybe someone was just wearing the same cologne. She pushed the hopeful feeling away. There was no way.
Damn, that was a close call. It was as if she smelled him or sensed that he was there. He ducked into the alley far enough she couldn't see him but he could see her. He felt like a creep but he wanted to know, if she found someone else he'd walk away and she'd never know he'd been there. She was still so beautiful, she had lost a lot of weight though and he didn't like that she looked like a twig now. She looked so drained and tired leaning against the wall. He just wanted to take her into his arms, hold her, and love on her again. Soon he told himself, soon.
He began to walk away from her.
Paige couldn't understand the crazy feeling she was having. It was stranger than anything she had ever felt before. She hugged herself and headed back into the diner. She walked in to see Gabe and Faye in a lip lock. She quickly looked away as they pulled apart, "I'm so sorry." She blushed.
"It's okay Paige, hey you going to that Doctor Garcia anymore?" Gabe asked knowing she should have an appointment soon.
"I feel like it was a waste of time Gabe, she doesn't get the bond me and him had, just like so many others don't understand." She let out a sigh, she went and sat in a chair, her shoulders slumping. Maybe she was crazy but she just couldn't understand what else would have made her feel the way she had outside. He had to be close.
"Paige? Paige?" Gabe was waving his hand in front of her face.
Paige jumped when she finally realized what was going on, "What?"
He shook his head trying not to laugh at her, "What time are you off today? Need me to pick up Aurora?"
"Yes, that'd be great, I'm off at four you can just bring her here once you get her."
"Alright, do you need anything else like from the store or anything?" Gabe leaned up against the counter.
Paige pulled out a pen and her note pad. She wrote down a list. Goldfish, cheeze-its, apple juice, milk, waffles, syrup, salad, croutons, and French dressing, "Here you go, that'll work for now until I get to the store in a couple of days, thank you, Gabe, I appreciate everything."
