Adopted novel Chapter 55

"Why can't she remember us?" Dad asked the neurologist, "her results are expected due to the injuries sustained to the head because of the continuous bashing, the CT scan shows temporary amnesia and we can't tell when she will heal or remember things her brain doesn't want to and I don't advice we forcing her to remember to avoid any more damage." He responded to him making everyone sadder, "so you are saying she can't remember how many weeks or months?" I inquired looking at Ro who is asleep with her head on my chest. "The scan shows almost 6 months of inactivity, which means she can't remember anything that happened from 6 months ago till now," he answered "so you mean she has no memory of her been adopted or the death of Emma, does this mean she won't remember what happened to her the other night?" Justin asked while he sits at my side of the bed to stroke her hair, "she won't remember those events but we can't rule out the cause of her trauma just yet, it's likely she has nightmares from the incidence judging from her first response when she woke up" he answered him "what do you mean by her first response?" Sophia inquired "she was also diagnosed with androphobia it seems very serious coupled with anxiety disorder and she also has panphobia," he explained.

I looked around the room once again after the neurologist left with Dr. Rossi who went to get the prescriptions he ordered for her, everyone seems to be lost in their own world and it's obvious no one wanted to leave Ro alone to battle with the newly found demons she was about to have. "We can work this out guys, she's my cousin and I am not leaving her side no matter the amount of phobia listed." Justin broke the silence placing a peck on her forehead, the girls including Kim surprisingly walked to the bed to take their seat after placing pecks on her hair, "she's my chick and I will always protect her," Mila said after taking her seat, the guys including Lorenzo and Theo also did the same promising to be there for her always while our parents watched with tears in their eyes.

This time around she will be having more than two people to protect her and I can't be happier for her.

It's been a week since Ro woke up and we had to make her get use to our parents so we told her the truth, I told her about them been our biological parents after adopting her and finding out after that I was her twin. She was very happy to know we are twin but she kept asking about Ocean and the doctor said we couldn't pass any bad news to her yet so we had to lie saying Ocean was oversea and didn't know she was in the hospital, I felt bad I had to lie to her but there was nothing I could do about it and I know I was going to tell her the truth one day maybe when she's better I will.

She has been getting to having just dad and grandpa around her, she still gets anxiety attacks when she sees the guys with their fathers but it's getting better. She will be discharged today with lots of pills to help her sleep because that's the only thing keeping the nightmares away, she complained of pains in between her legs when she tries standing on her own and she asked if it happened again but I had to tell another lie saying she had an accident making her have a sore in between her legs it's stupid and unbelievable but I think she bought it, the only thing we have to be conscious about is having her in front of a mirror because of the left over hickeys on her neck and breast areas.

Dad had to hire female bodyguards for her comfort and she will be taking her classes from home when school resumes till she's comfortable to attend school with everyone, it's as if we have taken lots of step backwards and I am certain she isn't pleased with it but her sense of fear is overcoming her sense of reasoning with her instinct telling her to run the other way when she sees any guy and I can see she's really trying to overcome her instinct and fear that's one thing about her I and Emma admire. She was placed on a wheel chair which was pushed by Justin and Ava taking turns for fun while the rest walk behind her with me holding her hand walking beside her, I got to know a part of her I rarely saw but was reserved for Emma only she was drawn back into her shell and she depends on me to help her navigate through the dark room, she also became very clingy to me and our parents.

We arrived at the house and she was taken to her room where she slept off immediately making us decide to give her the pills she was meant to take when she's awake while I decide to check out my room which happened to be in front of hers, my room was the same has her room aside from the colors used in painting the room and the decors. I went back to Ro's room to sleep beside her I found out I sleep perfectly well beside her also guess been clingy is a twin thing, I pulled her into me to hear her mumbling some words but I decided to overlook it maybe she's sleep talking I tell myself closing my eyes to sleep.

I heard whimpers coming from beside me and I could feel kicks and trashing also the mumbles became words and I could make out "leave me please" and sobs following with the trashing increasing I opened my eyes to look at the room remembering I slept beside Ro I looked at my side to see her trashing with tears running down her eyes but her eyes were still closed and she keeps saying the same words, "Ro, wake up it's only a dream," I said to her starting to get scared because of the way she keeps kicking I am scared of her hurting herself so I called for help, I ran out of her room to shout for mom and dad who came running immediately with Uncle Luke and Gio "she's having a nightmare," Gio said when they entered the room, "Diamond open your eyes baby" dad said to her pulling her up to sit and he keeps shaking her awake till she opened her eyes to see him, she hugged him tightly saying "they did it again dad, I begged them to stop but they didn't it hurts" she said to him holding him tightly "no one will ever hurt you again my love, I will always protect you from the demons who will come knocking," dad said to her.
