Nanny came in minutes after dad consoled Ro with her pills and a glass of warm milk which she took and slept off seconds after mom stayed behind while the men left to the sitting room to continue their conversation, mom laid in between us pulling us both into herself after placing pecks on our head. "Will she ever be fine mom?" I whispered to her sounding hopeless making her look at me, "she will be fine honey, I will turn all the stones in this world and out to make sure she is fine" she said to me with determination in her words and eyes, I don't know what to say so I just nodded my head in response not taking my eyes off her with tears in my eyes.
It's been three weeks since Ro has been discharged saying things got better after day one will be a lie, she rarely sleeps without having nightmares there are days where I find her awake because she's scared to close her eyes. She closed herself up from everyone including me, she doesn't talk or respond when spoken to by anyone, she rarely eats and she stares into space with tears always streaming down her cheeks. I don't know if she's used having the guys around because she gives no reaction when they are around her and it's starting to scare every one of us.
When it started, dad got different therapist to try making her open up but none was successful it's like she was in a comma and awake at the same time. I, Lorenzo, Justin and Theo take turn to start conversation with her everyday but no progress has been made so far, it's Justin's turn today and I decided to join him, we entered her room to see her lying on her bed moving closer she had tears flowing from her eyes as usual I wiped it away with my thumb I kept my eyes on the tears that kept escaping from her eyes while she looked to be in deep thought "when will she come around?" I asked Justin who also had tears in his eyes while I cleaned mine with my palm, "she will come around" he said placing his hand on my shoulder in a comforting way.
As usual we sat with her making conversation with her even when we knew we won't get a response, I looked at her dark circled eyes which was pointing out the sleepless nights she has even the medications doesn't seem to work anymore. Our parents are thinking of placing her on medical induced comma so she can get the sleep she needs but Rossi said the nightmares might make her active during the coma and it will make her keep waking up, we just have to wait for her to come around probably when she decides to open up on what she's feeling and from there we will give her the help she needs. "School will be starting next week Ro and we have same classes it will be like Texas over again maybe I can finally get a boyfriend, what do you think about it?" I said to her but no response is gotten as expected.
"Do you think she's ready for school?" Justin asked connecting her Bluetooth speaker to his phone "I made a new song for you, hope you enjoy it" he continued with a small smile on his lip, the song was a slow and solemn one and I never pegged Justin to be a solemn artist but I guess for Ro he can be the unexpected. We all listened to the song and I noticed the lyrics was about how strong she is and him believing she can overcome all obstacles she faces, it was a reminder of who she was and who she is and what she's going through which I felt was a good thing a big brother could do and I was happy to have him around. "It's a nice song Justin" I said to him only to hear a loud sob coming from Ro we moved closer to comfort her "the first sound she will make in weeks turns out to be a sob caused by me, I think I suck at this big brother job" Justin said with a heavy sigh pulling her closer into himself.
She kept sobbing loudly making I and Justin try comforting her still no avail, Justin had to call mom and dad who rushed in to her room to console her also. Mom held her close to herself while she hums a song to her rocking her back and forth and after almost 30 minutes her sobs stopped but her hiccups could be heard loudly, she slept off after few minutes I guess she spent herself with the episode that just happened mom still held her even when she's asleep, "what happened?" Dad whispered looking at Justin and I explained what transpired to them while they nod in understanding, "the song is a nice gesture Justin and thank you always taking care of her and Ameer" Mom said to him with a small smile on her lip, it's obvious she and dad are trying their best to help her but there is nothing their money can do to help her out and they know that which kills them every day.
The past weeks has been hell for every one of us even when our parents are trying to be strong for me, I see dad's dilemma every time a therapist tells him there is nothing they can do to help her till she decides to come around herself, the pains in his eyes and the hidden tears he wishes to shed or when mom comes into her room to comfort her after every nightmares or when she finish bathing her I see the tears that escapes from her tired eyes and I see dad comforting her every day. I just wish Ro sees it also and comes around, I know what she's going through isn't something she can just come out from but I hope she sees we are all here for her and with her to fight all nightmares away when she decides to come around.
She is the strongest person I have ever seen and there are times when even the strongest person becomes the weakest, times when even the strongest finds it hard to rise after a huge fall, times when even the strongest finds it hard to be okay and times when the strongest needs all the support she can get. I feel she is finally giving in to all the pains she ever went through, the abuse she pretends to get over while we were still in the orphanage, the harassment she goes through from the students and the securities, the love she always wanted but never got then and now she is trying to let go of all pains and suffering but with all these in her head when will she ever heal?
