Layla POV:
When I walked into the house, my mom was cleaning the living room.
When she saw my tears she looked concerned. "Honey, what's wrong?" She asked and I broke down. "Mommy." I said and ran to her. She instantly wrapped her arms around me. "What happened, baby?" She asked me, but I couldn't form the words. "She found her mate." Lucas said, angrily.
Mom looked down at me. "Then why are you so upset?" She asked wiping my tears. "He rejected me." I said through my tears. "He said he didn't want a mate and that if I told anyone he would deny it." I said and suddenly heard a loud growl.
I turned to see my father standing with my brother. "He did what?" He asked with his hands balled into fists.
"It was Sinclair Fisher." Lucas told him. "Jack's kid?" Mom asked. "Yeah." Lucas replied.
Dad shook his head angrily. "I'm so sorry, sweetheart." He said hugging me. "Why am I not good enough for him, daddy?" I asked as fresh tears fell from my face. "There is nothing wrong with you, baby. He's an idiot for rejecting you." He replied.
Later that night I called Sandy to tell her what happened. "That stupid son of a bitch! I'm gonna kick his pathetic ass when I see him!" She said. "Sandy, please don't do anything stupid. Lucas already did that." I told her. "Good! The mother fucker deserves it." Sandy replied. I just sighed and shook my head. "It's over now, Sandy. There's nothing that can be some, unless he takes back his rejection." I told her. She muttered a string of curse words under her breath.
The next day, when Lucas and I walked into the school building, I saw Sin, with his arm slung around a girl's shoulder as she clung to him like a leach. All I could do was stare. When he saw me looking at him, he only smirked.
When I did, I heard a loud growl behind me. I looked back to see Sin glaring at Adrien.
"What's his problem?" Adrien asked. "I have no idea." I replied.
Adrien was a really sweet guy. He quickly became my friend, as he walked me to my classes and even sat with Lucas, Sandy and I at lunch. Sandy flirted with him s little during our lunch period but Adrien didn't seem to pick up on it.
I saw that Sin, had the same girl next to him but his eyes were on me. What the hell was his problem? He had no right to be angry. He's the one who rejected me in the first place.
