Charlie POV:

"Can you tell me what happened?" I asked as I cleaned Layla's wounds with an alcohol pad.

"I don't know how it happened. I was training some of the pups when the alarms started blaring. There were so many of them." Layla replied.

"Hunters?" I asked and she nodded and started sobbing.

"They killed 7 pups, Charlie. Children! Our beta, Jason.... He was killed. Goddess he was killed right in front of me. I got as many people as I could to the bunker. Lana was right in my arms when a hunter caught me by surprise. He slammed me onto the ground and while I was disoriented, he yanked Lana from me and bolted." Layla continued.

"Oh my.." I whispered. "Sin ran after them but he was shot in the leg with a silver bullet and dragged away. I was fighting off three different hunters so I wasn't able to get to him."

"Goddess, I'm so sorry." I whispered to her. "I don't know what to do, Charlie." Layla said as she looked up at me.

"We'll get them back." I replied.

The door burst open soon after and I saw Sadie rush in.

"My baby." She said crying as she hugged Layla tightly. "Are you alright, honey?" She asked.

"No." Layla replied weakly. "What happened baby?"

Layla went through the painful memory again as she repeated the story to her mother.

I walked downstairs to see Lucas pacing back and forth as Alex sat at the kitchen table trying to catch his breath.

Lucas stopped when he saw me. "Charlie..." I knew what he was going to say next.

"No! Hell no, Lucas! You are not going out there!" I yelled at him. "Baby, I have to. My sister's family is in danger." Lucas replied calmly.

"I won't lose you Lucas!" I yelled again.

Lucas walked up to me and placed his hands on my cheeks. "No baby, you won't. I will always come back to you." He told me.

"Lucas, please." I begged. "I'm sorry baby but I have to." He said again.

Lucas POV:

Adrien and I met up with Dorian and began our search for Sin and Lana. Why the fuck would they take a baby hostage? What the fuck is going on?

I caught Lana's scent close to an abandoned building.

I don't even remember the last time I cried.

Charlie POV:

Soon after Lucas walked into his office I followed.

I walked in and saw his head in his hands and his shoulder heaving.

"Lucas?" I asked and walked over to him. He stood and wrapped his arms around me, burying his face in my neck.

"I couldn't fucking find them, Charlie. I failed." He said as he sobbed quietly.

"No, Lucas, you didn't. We're not giving up, okay? We'll find them." I told him softly.

My wolf purred quietly to comfort him, making him calm slightly.

"I have to go to my sister's pack and check the security footage. Maybe I can get a lead." He said quietly.

"That's a good idea, baby." I said softly. "Can you come with me?" Lucas asked. "Of course." I replied before hugging him again.
